#Israeli soldiers destroyed a decades-old cross located at the peak of #MountHermon. The cross was a pilgrimage site for Christians in #Lebanon and #Syria. In Christianity, the Mount Hermon peak is where John, James, and Peter witnessed the Transfiguration of Christ. The site was known as “The Cross”. A soldier involved in the desecration of this cross said “We really didn’t like that the area was named the cross and were worried that from now on, no one would have a reason to see a cross and call this place that”
