News: Study finds #Armenian alphabet structurally closer to ancient #Ethiopic Ge’ez, revealing links between African and Caucasus scripts A new study has found that the Armenian alphabet may be structurally closer to the ancient Ethiopic #Ge'ez than previously understood, shedding fresh light on possible historical connections between cultures in #Africa and the #Caucasus. The research, conducted by scientists at #San_Diego State University and reported by Phys.org, used artificial intelligence to examine similarities among ancient writing systems. The findings were published in the journal Digital Scholarship in the Humanities. Using a dataset of more than 28,000 Ethiopic characters, researchers trained a computer model to recognize structural features such as curves, straight lines, and angles.
