You can build C projects using only a C compiler without needing tools like make or cmake by using the "nob" library, which lets you write build instructions in C itself. It also lets you reuse code between your project and build system since both use C. However, it requires comfort with C programming and is mainly useful for simpler C/C++ projects, not complex ones with many dependencies. You just include the single header file "nob.h" to start using it. This approach simplifies building and increases control if you prefer coding your build steps in C directly.
