🇷🇺 100 Years of Public Diplomacy The 1920–30s The 1920s–30s marked the beginning of structured Soviet public diplomacy. In 1925, the All-Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (VOKS) was established, bringing together leading figures of science and culture. Among its founders were Anatoly Lunacharsky, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Boris Pasternak, Sergei Prokofiev, Dmitri Shostakovich, Sergei Eisenstein, and Ilya Ehrenburg. From 1925 to 1929, the organisation was chaired by Olga Kameneva. VOKS quickly gained international recognition, engaging prominent intellectuals such as Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Rabindranath Tagore, Bernard Shaw, and Herbert Wells. The 1920–30s laid the foundations of modern public diplomacy and long-term humanitarian cooperation. #100YearsOfDiplomacy#PublicDiplomacy#VOKS#CulturalRelations
