Did you know that snow leopard cubs are called барсята [bar-sya-ta] in Russian? 🔻Interestingly, little barisyata love to roll down snow-covered slopes, like children on slides, which helps them develop coordination and agility. 🔻In addition, their thick fur not only protects them from the cold but also makes them incredibly fluffy, giving the impression that they are wearing warm fur suits. 🔻By the way, snow leopards don't form pairs; the females raise their young alone. #fact_file #Russiannature #brief_and_interesting 😎RCRussian | Support | Boost

Crimea's Pink Wonder: Lake Sasyk-Sivash 🔻Discover one of nature's most astounding attractions on the Crimean Peninsula, Russia: Lake Sasyk-Sivash. Unlike typical lakes, it shimmers in breathtaking pink. 🔻This vast lake spans an impressive 75 square kilometers (29 sq mi), yet is remarkably shallow at just 1.2 meters (4 feet) deep. 🔻Its mesmerizing pink hue comes from the Dunaliella salina algae, which thrives in the lake's highly salty waters. This microalgae produces carotenoids - the same pigments found in carrots - which colour the water. 🔻These pigments create a spectrum from delicate pale pink to vibrant fuchsia and lilac, with intensity varying by weather and algae concentration. 🔻Lake Sasyk-Sivash is a true natural spectacle and a must-see if you find yourself in Crimea! 📍 Geoposition: Yevpatoria, Crimea, Russia #around_Russia #Russiannature 😎RCR | Support | Boost
