The badgers have already started to prepare for wintering in Russia! 🦡❄
• Барсук (барсуки) (masc.noun)
[bar-suk (bar-su-ki)]
🔻In the Priozersky district, they managed to film a badger coming out of its hole-cave at dawn, looking around, sniffing the air to see if there were any enemies nearby, and began to take morning treatments.
🔻The animals lead a twilight and nocturnal lifestyle it's great luck that it came out at dawn!
🔻Badgers are known for their cleanliness. After tidying himself up it busily began to clean its apartment as well.
🔻The badger has already started preparing its burrow for the onset of cold weather. For safety reasons, it deepens the dwelling and changes the bedding for warmth. It's no joke, badgers spend up to six months sleeping! Animals also love comfort
🔻The male does not differ from the female in badgers by colour, but the tail can determine the sex of the animal. In males it has a pointed tip.

A 32,000-year-old saber-toothed tiger kitten is being studied in Yakutia.
🐯In northeastern Yakutia, where permafrost stretches to the horizon, scientists have brought to light a find that even experienced paleontologists trembled at, because from under a layer of ancient ice they took out a saber-toothed tiger kitten, preserved so perfectly, as if it had just fallen asleep in the cold last night.
🐯Homotherium latidens is a "saber—toothed cat", a representative of an ancient genus of predators that inhabited North America, Eurasia and Africa during the Pleistocene epoch, when glacial winds shaped the landscape, and giant mammoths, woolly rhinoceroses and cave lions determined the rules of survival.
🐯The perfect preservation is explained by the cold, dryness and stability of the environment, which froze the body without decomposition, preserving the structure of the coat, the shape of the paws and even the thin whiskers.

A slender snow-white beauty turned up in the suburbs of St. Petersburg.
• Большая белая цапля (femin.noun)
[bal'-sha-ya be-la-ya tsap-lya]
🔻There are grey herons, and there are white herons.
I was able to admire a white heron on the Gulf of Finland in the suburbs of St. Petersburg.
🔻Although these snow-white beauties first started appearing in our country about 10 years ago, it has been in recent years that we have seen them more and more often. The amount of white herons in wild nature in nature are increasing for some reason, moreover, unlike their gray counterparts, they are much more noticeable.
🔻The scientific name of the bird is the great white heron. This is not an albino grey heron, but a separate species. It's really big: The height of the bird is about one meter, and the wingspan is up to 1.5 meters!
🔻They nest in the Leningrad region and their appearance in our country is associated with a warming climate.

The Amur Forest Cat – Siberia's Elusive Feline Ghost
Meet one of the world's most mysterious wildcats:
• Амурский лесной кот
The Amur forest cat (Prionailurus bengalensis euptilura),
🔻This is a captivating subspecies of the leopard cat found only in the Russian Far East.
🔻Appearance & Nature: This "cute" inhabitant of Siberian taiga is essentially a wild twin of a domestic tabby, but with a fierce, independent spirit. It's a subspecies of the Asian leopard cat, with a thick, greyish-brown coat perfect for camouflage.
🔻The Ultimate Introvert: Dubbed the Red Book mystery, its population size remains unknown. It leads such a secretive, solitary life in the dense forests of Primorye and Priamurye that every photograph of it is considered a rare treasure!
🔻Survival & Threats: An excellent climber and swimmer, it hunts rodents, birds, and fish. Its main threats are habitat loss, forest fires, and accidental trapping. Keeping one as a pet is impossible – their wild instincts are far too strong!
🔻A living symbol of the remote, wild beauty of the Russian Far East, this cat reminds us that some mysteries of nature are still meant to stay hidden. ❄️🐾
