🥳Today we celebrate: • День Русского Кваса Russian Kvass Day 🔻Kvass is a traditional fermented beverage from Slavic countries, most notably Russia. It's made from bread, malt, and sometimes fruits or berries. 🔻Before the 12th century, kvass in Russia was stronger and thicker than modern beer. Kvass was considered an alcoholic beverage, and the word квасник was a contemporary synonym for пьяница(drunkard) (also квасить [kva-sit'] meaning to get drunk, is in slang to this day). 🍺Recipe: ☆ 300 grams of Borodinsky bread ☆ a handful of raisins ☆ 2.5 liters of warm boiled water ☆ 50 grams of sugar ☆ Cover and leave in a warm place for 2 days ☆ After 2 days, add 1 tablespoon of honey ☆ Leave for another day ☆ Strain ☆ Enjoy this magnificent drink!
