Ever dreamed of seeing yourself on a movie poster? At Polytech, you don’t have to dream😉 An exhibition called “One-to-One” has opened at the IMOP building. It features recreations of iconic movie and TV posters, brought to life by international students and their teachers. Friends, Santa Barbara, The Office — and many more. Come by, explore, and maybe even spot your pals on the posters! 🖼 The idea for the exhibition came from a love of art. As the organizers explain: “At first, we thought about recreating paintings, but then realized it might not feel modern enough for students. That’s how we came up with the idea of poster recreations — something much more relevant for a young audience.” The main challenge was to recreate each poster as accurately as possible. And the participants nailed it — from outfits to facial expressions, poses, and overall mood of the original characters. The Russian-Arab club has opened at Polytech! Curious fact: Arabic is the official language in 24 countries. As part of the club's opening, the participants visited the exhibition dedicated to the heritage of Russia and Arab countries, got acquainted with the music performed in Arabic oud and Armenian duduk. And at the end of the evening, there was a performance by an Iraqi artist and a poetry reading. 🙌🏼 Among the honored guests of the event were the director of the Center for Russian-Arab Cooperation in St. Petersburg and the President of the NGO "African Unity".
