🇧🇩Rosatom starts up first nuclear power plant in Bangladesh On April 28, the loading of fresh nuclear fuel began at Unit 1 of the Rooppur NPP. This is the first stage of a key start-up phase at the unit — next step is to bring the reactor to its minimum controllable level of power. 🔸Who attended the launch? Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom, and Faqir Mahbub Anam, Ministry of Science and Technology, participated in the fuel loading ceremony. 🔸What did the event include? The participants gave symbolic permission to load nuclear fuel into Unit 1 of the Rooppur NPP. 163 fuel assemblies will be loaded into the reactor core. After that, the reactor will be brought to its minimum controllable level of power. Following this, the reactor’s power will be gradually increased.
