⚛RITM-400 The RITM-400 is an upgraded and even more powerful version of the RITM-200. In 2025, Rosatom manufactured two RITM-400 units for the icebreaker Rossiya of project 10510, which is currently under construction. This super-powerful nuclear icebreaker will have improved icebreaking capabilities enabling it to navigate through ice up to four meters thick and create 50-meter-wide channels. This will ensure regular shipping through the eastern section of the Northern Sea Route. Due to their superpower, the RITM-400 reactor units were named after Russian epic heroes — Ilya Muromets and Dobrynya Nikitich. Each of these units has a capacity of 315 MW, which significantly exceeds the capacity of any other existing propulsion reactor unit. #Rosatom_SMR

🇰🇿New round of Global Hackatom in Kazakhstan National round of Global HackAtom was held in Kazakhstan. Global HackAtom is an international championship aimed at uniting young specialists from nuclear industry all around the world. 80 students from universities of Kazakhstan took part in the championship. 🗒What was the participants’ task? 16 student teams worked on a case study on developing an app for managing the construction stage of an NPP in Kazakhstan. During the first day, the participants attended the lectures on nuclear and digital technology with representatives from leading Rosatom universities — National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Almaty Branch of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. During the second day, the teams defended their projects before jury. 🏆Who won? “BioTeam” from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University became the winning team. 🇧🇩Rosatom starts up first nuclear power plant in Bangladesh On April 28, the loading of fresh nuclear fuel began at Unit 1 of the Rooppur NPP. This is the first stage of a key start-up phase at the unit — next step is to bring the reactor to its minimum controllable level of power. 🔸Who attended the launch? Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom, and Faqir Mahbub Anam, Ministry of Science and Technology, participated in the fuel loading ceremony. 🔸What did the event include? The participants gave symbolic permission to load nuclear fuel into Unit 1 of the Rooppur NPP. 163 fuel assemblies will be loaded into the reactor core. After that, the reactor will be brought to its minimum controllable level of power. Following this, the reactor’s power will be gradually increased. The next step is the power start-up of Unit 1, after which it will begin to supply electricity to the Bangladesh power grid. #Rosatom_News

According to local legends, Tawang Monastery is a sacred site blessed by the great Buddhist master, Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche meditated in the caves around Tawang, bestowing his blessings upon the land and its people. 🇨🇳Rosatom’s innovative Generation IV technologies at an exhibition in China Rosatom took part in the China International Nuclear Industry Exhibition, Nuclear Industry China (NIC2026), which was held in Beijing from April 22 to 25, 2026. What did Rosatom demonstrate at the exhibition? The centerpiece of the exhibition booth was a multimedia model of a two-component nuclear power system. The project involves the development of a new technological platform for the nuclear industry based on a closed nuclear fuel cycle with fast neutron reactors. ⚛RITM-200 modifications The RITM-200N, the RITM-200C, and the RITM-200M are the modifications of the RITM-200. RITM-200N is an adaption of innovative small power propulsion technology for land-based operations. Now a project is underway to build a small NPP with two RITM-200N units in Yakutia. Additionally, a small NPP with two RITM-200N units is planned to be constructed in Uzbekistan. RITM-200M is intended for a floating power unit of FPU-100 export design. This FPU can operate in warm and hot climates. RITM-200C is designed to operate in the Arctic as part of a floating power unit of FPU-106 design. Rosatom is currently constructing a series of these units to provide electricity to a large industrial cluster in Chukotka. One power unit of each FPU consists of two RITM reactor units. FPUs can be based in coastal regions, ports, archipelagos and on islands. In addition to the advantages of large NPPs, FPUs are capable of following load changes and they takes less time to construct. #Rosatom_SMR

📍Rosatom completes program for operation of nuclear fuel with minor actinides Beloyarsk NPP has completed the world’s first program of pilot operation in a commercial reactor of uranium-plutonium MOX fuel with minor actinides – the most radiotoxic components from spent nuclear fuel. 🔹How did the program proceed? Three trial fuel assemblies containing americium-241 and neptunium-237 were loaded into the BN-800 fast neutron reactor core in 2024. Since then, they have successfully undergone a full cycle of operation across three fuel micro-campaigns. After cooling in the spent fuel pool, the irradiated assemblies will be dispatched for studies. 🔹Why is it important? The recycling of minor actinides through "burning" in power reactors is a key element in the development of fourth-generation nuclear power industry.
