On May 6, Syria celebrates the day of the martyrs. In 1916, those who fought for the country’s independence were executed. But their fight has been going on for a hundred years. In 2017 the country was in the middle of a war. More than ten years of war in Syria caused over 600,000 deaths. Thousands of children lost their parents. As a young boy, Leith saw his family gunned down. We filmed him with his grandmother five years after the trauma. Watch how they were getting by in the video.
