Rwanda has the highest percentage of women members of parliament in the world. More than sixty percent of elected representatives are women. It’s partly due to the genocide of 1994 when up to a million people were slaughtered. Since then, women have accounted for the bulk of the working population. Now they work everywhere: in government, commerce, and even construction. Rwanda’s female population argues the country is now equal, and it is women who have made it happy and prosperous.
