🕯#OnThisDay in 1945, the United States dropped a nuclear bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, instantly killing almost 80,000 people. About as many people would die in agony later from radiation poisoning. This was the first time in human history that a nuclear device was used in warfare. In fact, it was a merciless test on the civilian population. The United States has been carrying out research on military applications for nuclear weapons since 1939, seeking to create a formidable weapon that would enable Washington to impose its will on the entire world. Codenamed Manhattan, the project received almost $2 billion in funding. Three nuclear bombs were developed by mid-summer 1945, cynically codenamed the Gadget, Little Boy and Fat Man. The Gadget was to be used in a test explosion, while the other two were intended to intimidate Japan and also impress the USSR as it reinforced its positions. Almost all clocks in Hiroshima stopped ticking at 8:15 am. The city was completely wiped from the surface of the Earth with the blast from the explosion turning people into ashes. Attempts by Western historians to justify this monstrous crime by saying that the United States wanted to force Japan to withdraw from World War II do not hold water. Japan’s military resources were largely depleted by early August 1945, and it was the USSR’s entry into war in the Far East that played a decisive role here. Therefore, the atomic bombing of Hiroshima was nothing other than a barbarous display of force and an attempt to justify all the money that had been invested in the Manhattan Project. It never occurred to President Harry Truman or any of his successors in this office to apologise for the suffering the people of Hiroshima had to endure. 💬Sergey Lavrov on the atomic bombing of Hiroshima (August 6, 2020): To this day, the terrible death of innocent civilians strikes a chord with millions of people on our planet. It is hard to fully understand what the masterminds and perpetrators of such an inhumane act were guided by.

Alexander Pushkin: The Original Cat Lover!🐱 🔻Forget modern memes – Alexander Pushkin was the OG cat enthusiast! Turns out, Russia's great poet constantly doodled cats right in his rough drafts, manuscript margins, and letters. He intuitively knew their oxytocin power! 🔻His first feline sketch appeared in 1818, gracing Ruslan and Lyudmila drafts: a plump cat with pointed ears and a snake-like tail. These charming cat doodles reappeared often, almost like his whimsical signature. 🔻So, our endless awws and likes for cats aren't just trends. It seems the universal adoration for felines is a timeless cultural code, understood by Pushkin centuries ago! 🐾 #Pushkin #Russian_culture #RussianCulturalCode 😎RCR | Support | Boost

Russian Mission to EU

🗓On 6 June, the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, the international Russian Language Day is celebrated all over the world. 🇷🇺To mark the 225th anniversary of Pushkin's birth, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Russian Mission to the EU Kirill Logvinov laid flowers at his monument in Brussels. 📝We suggest you read a passage from Pushkin's poem "To the Slanderers of Russia" (1831), which sounds more relevant today than ever: What stirs ye? Is it that this nation On Moscow's flaming wall, blood-slaked and ruin-quenched, Spurned back the insolent dictation Of Him before whose nod ye blenched? Is it that into dust we shattered The Dagon that weighed down the earth so wearily? And our best blood so freely scattered To buy for Europe peace and liberty? Ye 're bold of tongue — but hard, would ye in deed but try it. Or is the hero, now reclined in laurelled quiet, Too weak to fix once more Izmail's red bayonet? Or hath the Russian Tsar ever in vain commanded? Or must we meet all Europe banded? Have we forgot to conquer yet? Or rather, shall they not, from Perm to Tauris' fountains, From the hot Colchian steppes to Finland's icy mountains, From the grey Kreml's half-shattered wall, To far Kathay, in dotage buried, — A steely rampart close and serried, Rise, Russia's warriors, one and all? Then send your numbers without number, Your maddened sons, your goaded slaves, In Russia's plains there 's room to slumber, And well they 'll know their brethren's graves! #RussianLanguageDay#Pushkin

#Pushkin#HistoriaRusa#Duel#CineRuso#CulturaRusa Apóyanos pulsando👉'BOOST'👈 🖥https://vamosarusia.com 💬@vamosarusia
