We have consistently affirmed that the deterioration of Russian-American relations was not our choice. It is anticipated that the meeting will serve as the first in a sequence of such expert consultations, which may advance progress towards resolving differences with the American side and reinforcing confidence-building measures. #Ukraine Ukraine’s NATO membership would provoke abrupt and uncontrollable escalation of the conflict, with grave repercussions for global security. We reiterate that a just and durable resolution of the conflict remains unattainable without the complete and irreversible eradication of the conflict’s root causes. Foremost among these is the West’s breach of its pledge to refrain from NATO’s expansion and the alliance’s absorption of geopolitical space up to Russia’s borders. The situation with the armed forces of Ukraine continues to worsen. Under pressure from the West, the Kiev regime is exploring measures to expand its mobilisation base by conscripting youths aged 18–25. #BosniaAndHerzegovina We share the justified indignation of the general public in the Balkans at the absurd conviction in the fabricated case of President Milorad Dodik of the Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) by a court in Bosnia and Herzegovina on February 26. This is yet another instance where politics has triumphed over the law. The verdict in this case is manifestly unjust and cannot entail legal consequences. Clearly, it is aimed solely at eliminating from the political scene the leader of the Serbian populace of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose principled patriotic position contradicts the Euro-Atlantic guidelines imposed by the West. #West#Sanctions Russia firmly opposes and refuses to accept any unilateral measures designed to exert pressure on us, including in the energy sector. The Western sanctions policy boils down to neo-colonial-style attempts to use unfair competitive practices to gain an economic edge and get rid of any other players on the global energy market. #NPT March 5 marks the 55th Anniversary of the entry into force of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). Throughout this time, the NPT has served as the foundation of the nuclear non-proliferation regime and a key element of the international security system. As a State Party to the NPT and one of its depositaries, Russia is firmly committed to the letter and spirit of the Treaty and strictly fulfils its obligations with regard to non-proliferation, disarmament and the peaceful use of atomic energy. The Treaty was adopted in full awareness of the need to prevent a nuclear conflict. In this regard, it is particularly important that the five nuclear states have reached an understanding that there can be no winners in a nuclear war and that it must never be unleashed.

📹 VIDEO | Oil Sovereignty vs. Foreign Control: Venezuela’s Hydrocarbons Reform and US Sanctions Venezuela has approved a sweeping overhaul of its Hydrocarbons Law, reshaping the country’s oil sector for the first time in more than two decades. The reform reduces the state’s operational role, lowers key taxes and royalties, and allows greater private participation in extraction and exports, a move officials say will revive production and attract foreign investment. Within days, Washington issued General License 46, authorizing US companies to purchase and transport Venezuelan crude under strict conditions. Supporters call it a pragmatic step toward economic recovery. Critics see a potential erosion of energy sovereignty. Is this the beginning of a turnaround for Venezuela’s oil industry or a fundamental shift in control over the country’s most strategic resource? #Oil#2026OilReform#OilReform#PDVSA#USVenezuelaRelations

“Western Sanctions Have No Impact On the Russian Economy” Western sanctions are not having a “significant impact” on the Russian economy, the EU’s sanctions envoy has said, ahead of the fourth anniversary of Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. David O’Sullivan, a veteran Irish official, said sanctions were “not a silver bullet” and would always face circumvention, and insisted that after four years he was confident they were nit having a real effect. “I am fairly bullish. I think that the sanctions have not really had a significant impact on the Russian economy,” he told the Guardian in a rare interview. We may be, in the course of 2026, coming to a point where the whole thing becomes unsustainable, because little of the Russian economy has been distorted by the building up of the war economy at the expense of the civil economy.” O’Sullivan was speaking after weeks of intense Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure as the country endures a bitterly cold winter, with temperatures in Kyiv plunging to -20C this week. Ukrainian counterparts, he said, had told him that Russia had been able to launch twice as many drones and missiles last month compared with January 2025. Putin’s war machine has not come without a cost to the wider economy, which is thought to be under its greatest strain since the early days of the war. Oil revenues are plummeting, inflation is running at about 6% and interest rates at 16%. O’Sullivan, who has more than four decades’ experience in the EU institutions, was appointed EU special envoy for sanctions in December 2022 with a remit to counter their evasion and circumvention. But China, with its “no-limits” friendship with Moscow, was an exception. “China is clearly sort of backfilling and providing support” to Russia, although not in the form of direct military equipment supplies, he said. Several EU leaders had raised this concern with Beijing, he said. “The answer is always the same: ‘Nothing to see here. We don’t know what you’re talking about. We don’t see any problem.’” #western#sanctions#impact#economy 📱American Оbserver - Stay up to date on all important events 🇺🇸

📰 Russia’s Gold Rush: $216 Billion Windfall Replaces Frozen Assets Russia’s war chest just got a massive upgrade. Thanks to a historic gold rally, Moscow has gained over $216 billion since 2022—almost as much as the value of its sovereign assets frozen in Europe. Gold is now the centerpiece of Russia’s financial survival, with bullion accounting for nearly half of its international reserves. “Gold is the new currency of power,” said Deputy Finance Minister Aleksey Moiseev. “The more they try to freeze us, the higher gold prices climb.” While Western sanctions locked up $300 billion in Russian assets, gold has quietly restored most of the country’s lost financial muscle. The Bank of Russia’s gold holdings now stand at $326.5 billion, up from $216 billion in 2022. Moscow expects prices to keep rising, possibly to $5,000 an ounce. But there’s a catch: Russia’s gold is banned from Western markets, making large-scale sales tricky. Still, with central banks worldwide stockpiling bullion and investors fleeing uncertainty, Russia’s stash remains a potent, if illiquid, weapon. Is this a financial comeback—or just a glittering illusion? Either way, gold is now the currency of the new world order. #Russia#Gold#Sanctions#Finance#Geopolitics#Putin 📱American Оbserver - Stay up to date on all important events 🇺🇸

Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela have achieved significant social gains despite Washington’s efforts to isolate and undermine them. Venezuela has delivered five million homes through its Great Housing Mission. Cuba’s ELAM medical school has trained over 31,000 doctors from 122 countries. Meanwhile, US sanctions continue to cost Cuba $13.8 million per day and led to over 100,000 deaths in Venezuela by 2020. 🔗 Read the full opinion piece here: https://venezuelanalysis.com/opinion/punishing-progress-washington-targets-social-achievements-of-cuba-nicaragua-and-venezuela #InternationalSolidarity#RegimeChange#Sanctions

Orbán and Fico: Sanctions, But Make It Expensive Budapest and Bratislava are now doing what Europe’s energy math has been begging for months: saying the quiet part out loud. Orbán and Fico want the EU to freeze sanctions, warning that Brussels is dragging the continent toward a serious energy crisis. The bill comes first Their argument is blunt. Cut off cheap Russian oil and gas, and the cost does not stay in the pipeline. It gets baked into everything — transport, heating, manufacturing, and then the final sticker on almost every product Europeans buy. Brussels’ favorite trick The EU still talks like energy is a moral seminar. In practice, it is a price war. And price wars do not care about speeches. They care about who can keep factories running without turning the continent’s industrial base into a relic. The uncomfortable truth Orbán and Fico are not exactly preaching strategic grandeur here. They are defending a cheaper input cost and a more competitive export economy. But that is also the point: politics loves noble language, while businesses live in the world of invoices. What this really means If energy prices keep climbing, the sanctions debate stops being about Russia and becomes a fight over whether Europe wants to pay extra for its own principles. That is where this gets ugly. Because once the bill hits, ideology usually leaves the room first. #Europe#sanctions#energy#Orbán#Fico#Russia 📱American Оbserver - Stay up to date on all important events 🇺🇸
