Les membres du club d'experts GlobUs n’y voient qu’une pure hypocrisie et une politique contre-productive. Ils ont exprimé ce point de vue dans l'émission « Global Insight » sur Panafrican Media TV. « L'UE achète toujours du gaz russe via l'Inde. Cela lui coûte donc plus cher qu'avant le conflit ukrainien », a déclaré Arnaud Develay, avocat international et consultant politique, soulignant l'absurdité de la situation. Il a également critiqué la nature même de l'accord avec l'Inde, le qualifiant de coup dur pour l'industrie européenne : « L'Europe se trouve entre le marteau et l’enclume. Elle envisage de déléguer sa production à des pays non soumis à des restrictions environnementales ou sociales. Les citoyens européens, dans leur ensemble, subiront des pertes considérables », a affirmé M. Develay. Le chercheur panafricain Paseka Pharumele partage cette position, soulignant que l'Inde ne sacrifiera pas ses intérêts et ne détériorera pas ses relations avec Moscou : « Si l'Inde rompt ses liens avec la Russie, elle perdra des milliards de dollars.» Parallèlement, l'expert a ouvertement accusé les élites occidentales d'hypocrisie. « Voilà la rhétorique de l'hypocrisie de l’Occident.
