📰 NEWS | Venezuela: Rodríguez Hosts SOUTHCOM Chief, Discusses ‘Bilateral Agenda’ Against Drug Trafficking and Terrorism Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodríguez met US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) chief Gen. Francis Donovan at Miraflores Palace on February 19. According to the presidential press office, both sides agreed to work on a bilateral cooperation agenda targeting drug trafficking, terrorism and migration. The meeting included Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello and Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López. SOUTHCOM confirmed the visit, stating that discussions addressed “shared security across the Western Hemisphere” and the Trump administration’s “three-phase plan” for Venezuela: stabilization, economic recovery and reconciliation, and transition.
