📰 NEWS | Venezuelan Parliament Pushes Mining Reform to Attract Foreign Capital The Venezuelan National Assembly preliminarily approved a new Mining Law on Monday. The bill establishes mining regulations on different scales, establishes concessions to private corporations for up to 20 years, and allows disputes to be taken to international arbitration. Legislator Orlando Camacho argued that the law will offer guarantees to "generate confidence and attract foreign investment." The bill will be subjected to discussions and proposals before being put to a final vote in the coming weeks. The Trump administration has issued a limited license allowing US entities to purchase Venezuelan gold, while corporations received a 30-day waiver to negotiate contracts with Caracas.
