Google's New Rules for Political Ads with AI Content Hello, everyone! Google is rolling out new requirements for political advertisers. Starting in November, they'll need to make it clear if their election ads contain "synthetic content" created by AI. This includes content that makes it look like someone is saying or doing things they never did or fabricates events convincingly. Advertisers must prominently display disclaimers on images, videos, and audio content, stating things like "This audio was computer generated" or "This image does not depict real events." However, minor tweaks like adjusting brightness or removing red-eye with AI won't need a disclaimer. A Google spokesperson, Allie Bodack, emphasized the need for these measures, stating, "Given the growing prevalence of tools that produce synthetic content, we’re expanding our policies a step further to require advertisers to disclose when their election ads include material that’s been digitally altered or generated." These rules aim to maintain transparency and protect the integrity of political discourse in the age of AI. #AI#Politics#Google#AIinPolitics#Transparency#ElectionAds#SyntheticContent#AIRegulation
