Забавно, что и первое, и второе при иностранном вмешательстве и интересах. Это все, что вам нужно знать о человеческом постоянстве. Его не хватает даже на 50 лет. «Люди сегодня хвалят, завтра ругают, за что еще вчера хвалили, послезавтра забудут и тебя, и меня. Все позабудут! Суета и тлен все! Все глупости и подлости род человеческий уже совершил и теперь только повторяет их. Все на круги своя, и кружится, и кружится...» 45 years ago, Iranians set out to overthrow the Shah and they did. They celebrated in the streets, holding up portraits of Khomeini. Today, many speak with regret, addressing words of repentance to the Shah’s family, calling for the fall of the clerical regime. What is quietly ironic is that both moments: the first and the second, unfolded under the shadow of foreign intervention and external interests. This alone tells you almost everything about the endurance of human constancy: it rarely lasts even half a century. “What is praised today is abused tomorrow. They will forget you, me, everything.
