🤝 Communications Minister Meulia Hafid supported the company's plans at a meeting with Yandex CEO Alexander Popovsky in Jakarta last week.
💻 Notably, the minister held talks with a Microsoft representative immediately afterward. The technology corporation is also building a digital infastructure around its products in Indonesia.

🗑 Chinese company invests $225 mln to solve the garbage issue in Bali
📄 Bali authorities have signed an agreement with the Chinese company Weiming on the creation of the island's first energy waste utilization enterprise. The cost of the project is estimated at $225 million.
📍 It was decided to implement the project in the province of Gianyar on the basis of the Tamesi landfill, which now accepts 4000 tons of garbage per day. The initial capacity of the enterprise will be 1500 tons per day with subsequent increase in volume.
🇨🇳 China is the world's leader in electricity generation through garbage incineration. The parties promise that the technology used by the company is already above global environmental standards.
🥤 It is high time to do something about the garbage in Bali. The situation becomes especially dire during the rainy season, when garbage from local rivers appears on the beaches of the island's west coast.
🤞 If the first project goes well, there will be plenty of raw materials for future power plants. The main candidate is Suwung Island's largest landfill near Sanur.

In 2015, there was a company called SixFold. They were one of the first heroes to disrupt an industry that has not changed much for a century, the freight market. They investigated the situation, established their hypothesis, created MVP. They did not succeed. The image is a summary of their post mortem.
There are at least two learning from this story.
- Think in terms of the utility function. Do not just point out blocks of reasons. Write down the utility function for the situation and make assumptions on the parameters.
- Swarm intelligence sometimes works better than one might expect. Improvements in swarm intelligence take a lot of effort if one does not have a smart plan.

📈 Uzbekistan Business Confidence Surges in January 2026
💼 Uzbekistan’s business confidence jumped in January 2026, with the composite business climate index reaching 64 points, up 23% year-on-year, according to the Centre for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR).
🌾 Agriculture led growth, rising to 77 points from 48, as nearly half of agribusinesses reported increasing demand. The services sector climbed to 65 points and construction reached 61 points, while industry remained positive at 54 points.
👷♂️ Around 22% of companies have already increased staff, 65% plan workforce expansion, and 71% expect higher demand in the coming quarter.
⚖️ More than half of entrepreneurs (57%) reported no major barriers, with taxes, utilities, and access to finance being the most cited challenges.

👍TASS Vision, a startup specializing in the development of intelligent AI-powered cameras for offline retail, has successfully closed an investment round totaling €1.3 million.
One of the key participants in the round was IT Park Ventures, the state venture fund of Uzbekistan, which invested $100,000 as part of the country’s first transaction under the 1+1 co-investment mechanism.
