🐒 The Signal Baboon 🚦🚂 From 1881 to 1890, a baboon named Jack was officially employed by the South African Railway. He earned 20 cents a day and a small amount of beer 🍺—just like any regular worker. Jack assisted a signalman named James Wide, who had lost both legs in a railway accident. James trained Jack to help him with daily tasks, including operating railway signals. Under James’s supervision, Jack worked flawlessly for nine straight years. ✅ Railway officials even conducted an investigation—and were so impressed that they gave Jack an official job contract. Jack passed away in 1890. Today, his skull is preserved at the Albany Museum in Grahamstown, South Africa. 🏛 Source: https://t.me/ZA_future_of_the_West/15663 #History#Funfact#Railroads#SouthAfrica#Animals#Baboons#Signalbaboon#Unbelievable#LegendaryPets
