作為開發者，我們經常需要尋找並實踐各種問題的最佳實踐（best practice），那麼有沒有想過最糟實踐（worst practice）呢？
暢銷書籍《Effective Python》的作者 Brett Slatkin 在去年開設了 YouTube 頻道 —— Worst Practices in Software Development 與工程師們進行訪談聊聊他們實際的開發狀況，並提出了一個想法：
“I have a theory that nearly all of the horrible things that everyone tells you to avoid in programming are precisely the best way to build software.”
是不是避開了大家所謂的最糟實踐，恰恰就是我們在開發過程中尋尋覓覓的最佳實踐呢？
剛剛聽了 Leah Culver debugs with print statements 這一集，隔著螢幕都能感受到 Leah Culver 的歡愉，我自己也經常隨便在程式中隨便輸出個 5566, 55688, 123, test123 去確認執行順序，以及函數與方法是否確實被呼叫與執行。
是說……這應該不是需要被改善的 worst practice 吧？不是吧？不是吧！

今天在 Reddit 上看到了一則討論串，是開源的 Lowcode 開發平台 Budibase 準備開始對自行託管使用者進行限制，討論串的作者表示自己並不是試圖省錢的公司，他透過 Budibase 運行了許多社群專案。
比較引起我注意的是討論串中 Dan Brown（開源維基軟體 BookStack 的作者，並不是寫了《Angels & Demons》的那位作者）的留言：
“That sucks. This is one of the reasons I'm always really wary about any kind of open source project that's VC-backed, the financial pressure always seems to win and affect things at some point.”
並且他也會針對這些可能誤用並宣稱自己為開源的專案去提出疑問，讓我想到在對岸的 Gitee 上似乎也不少打著開源名號，但是只有放 README 的專案。

開源並不代表免費，在 Budibase 的案例中，主要的問題點在於最一開始對外宣傳 OSS 版本是無限制的，而這次的更新異動調整對那些貢獻專案的人來說，大概是狠狠的一刀吧……
