Así lo ha anunciado Aston Martín a través de un breve comunicado difundido en sus redes sociales, en el que ha informado de que el bicampeón del mundo no estará en el día de atención a medios de comunicación en Sao Paulo. "Fernando Alonso no podrá participar en la jornada de prensa en Brasil", ha avanzado el equipo, que ha recordado que el español "sufrió una infección intestinal en la previa del Gran Premio de Ciudad de México" que aún arrastra. Debido a ese problema intestinal, el asturiano no ha podido desplazarse directamente a Brasil, si no que ha tenido que regresar a Europa "para recibir más tratamiento por parte de un especialista". Será la primera vez que el brasileño se suba al AMR24, monoplaza que él mismo ha ayudado a desarrollar a través de su trabajo de simulador en el Campus Tecnológico de Aston Martin. Al participar en la sesión de entrenamientos, el piloto brasileño cumplirá parcialmente con el requisito del equipo de hacer rodar a un debutante en dos FP1, con una segunda sesión prevista para más adelante. "Estoy muy emocionado de pilotar el AMR24 por primera vez, llevo tiempo esperándolo. He pasado gran parte del año trabajando en el desarrollo de este coche en el simulador, así que será valioso para mí sentir la correlación entre el simulador y la realidad", celebró Drugovich, de 24 años.
