🇷🇺🇹🇯 A bilateral meeting between Russia's President Vladimir Putin and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmonwas held at the State Hermitage Museum. Earlier, the Head of State of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in an informal meeting of the leaders of the #CIS member countries. 💬Vladimir Putin: Mr Rahmon, Once again, I would like to thank you for accepting the invitation and coming to St Petersburg. ◾️However, I would like to begin our bilateral meeting by expressing my sincere condolences to you and to the family of the boy from Tajikistan who tragically lost his life a few days ago. Perpetrating terrorist acts against children is an especially abhorrent crime. The investigation will be concluded without doubt, and the perpetrators, should there be several, will undoubtedly be brought to full justice. I repeat once again: I was shocked by this crime. As I have already said, crimes of this kind are beyond comprehension, and when such terrorist acts are committed against children, it evokes particularly strong emotions. Please convey my most sincere condolences to the family of the deceased boy. #RussiaTajikistan

🇷🇺🇰🇿 Following the informal meeting of CIS leaders,Russia's President Vladimir Putinheld a bilateral meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev(December 22, 2025) 💬Vladimir Putin: Mr Tokayev, We began working together yesterday, and today we had the opportunity to devote half a day to informal discussions of our joint work within the #CSTO, the #CIS, and on bilateral matters. However, I am pleased to have the opportunity to meet with you separately and to discuss the issues that both you and I regard as priorities for the development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Russia. Overall, in my view, the situation is developing positively in virtually all areas. We do not have a single contentious or difficult issue, although, of course, at this level of interaction there are always many practical questions to address. I very much value the opportunity to discuss all of these matters with you. #RussiaKazakhstan

🎙Statement by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following talks with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty(Cairo, December 19, 2025) 💬Sergey Lavrov: We highly appreciated Egypt’s readiness to host the Second Ministerial Conference of the #RussiaAfrica Partnership Forum in Cairo. We discussed the further development of relations between Russia and the League of Arab States with its headquarters located in Egypt’s capital. Considerable attention was devoted to the bilateral agenda. We share a common commitment to continuing joint efforts to further strengthen our friendly, multifaceted relations in line with the 2018 Treaty on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation. We noted with satisfaction the high intensity of political dialogue, set by our leaders. We were pleased to welcome President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Moscow on May 9 during the events marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. On the sidelines of these events, our leaders held substantive talks and reaffirmed the readiness of our foreign ministries to continue active work on implementing the agreements reached at the highest level. 📈 We intend to expand cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. Trade turnover continues to grow steadily. By the end of 2024, it exceeded USD 9.3 billion, which is 31% higher than in 2023. A positive trend is also being maintained this year – during the first nine months of 2025, mutual trade grew by 12%. We are implementing large-scale joint infrastructure projects. In the new millennium, a symbol of strong ties between Russia and Egypt has become the construction of Egypt’s first nuclear power plant, El Dabaa. Work at this site is proceeding strictly in accordance with schedule. 🎓 Egyptian citizens traditionally study at Russian higher education institutions. We are always ready to increase the number of scholarships provided by our Government in line with the wishes of our Egyptian friends. Egyptian resorts have long been among the favourite overseas destinations for Russian tourists. In 2024, around 1.5 million Russian citizens visited Egypt. We agreed to step up bilateral foreign policy coordination, primarily within the UN and at other international platforms, including the Russia-Africa forums and the Russia-League of Arab States format I mentioned earlier. We paid particular attention to the situation in the zone of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We share a common stance in favour of ensuring an early and sustainable ceasefire regime in the Gaza Strip without any violations, as well as the need to continue active diplomatic efforts to resume the peace process in full compliance with existing UN decisions, including the establishment of a viable Palestinian State in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of the Jordan River. We also touched upon the situation in Syria, with an emphasis on the tasks of achieving reliable stabilisation in this long-suffering country. We reaffirmed our commitment to the principled goals of ensuring unconditional respect for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic. We discussed the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear programme. We highly valued Egypt’s mediation efforts in facilitating the resumption of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the IAEA, which were interrupted following aggression by Israel and the US, who carried out strikes against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure facilities under IAEA monitoring. 🤝 We are grateful to our Egyptian colleagues for their objective and balanced position on the situation in Ukraine. Cairo clearly understands that a political and diplomatic settlement is only possible through addressing the root causes of the conflict. Read in full #RussiaEgypt
