A story of how Tashkent CITY STAGE #Olympiad jury lowered my score by 10 points and not only. PART 1 My Olympiad was held on 30th November. Coming back home, I was lucky enough to find the Samarkand official channel @samarqandingliztili2022 with Olympiad answers which are released after it is finished. They release because Samarkand is much more honest and transparent than Tashkent) The papers with the tasks are given to the students. According to these official answers, I calculated my result to be around 80 points. At 10.30 pm the results were announced. And now, guess my score according to the jury? ... 67.6! To say that I was utterly shocked would be an understatement. The next day I showed everything to my teacher and we with her went back to the school for an appeal, and waited there for more than 2 hours, because the jury were late. Having checked the work together more carefully, it turned out that they not only calculated the score erroneously, but also marked my correct answers as incorrect. Also, even if they themselves made such a lot of mistakes which worthed me 10 points (while each 0.1 point plays a role in Olympiads), they didn't count my letter B as correct (although it was) just because "it wasn't written beautifully and neatly enough". Otherwise, I would probably even end up with the 1st place. In addition, I found 3 more mistakes in their own answers which are compiled by "an enormous Olympiad department of PROFESSORS" and I gave very decent proof that those were wrong. If you're an 11th grader wondering why you received your results sooo much later, know that the reason to that is me, who made them recheck all 130 10th graders' works. Also, these "professors" compiled lots of tests with more than 1 possible answer. As a result of so much fighting, I now have 77.4, my score is same with the second place's score and I have third place. Idk the reason though. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Last year, listening was with echos in a super large sports room that nothing was audible, and this year parents were walking and shouting in our classroom while we were writing our work, students were talking to each other, the invigilators were asking whether to set listening the number of times we want (although according to the guidelines max is 2 times), and also them asking to sign the paper with surnames while we were doing listening shows very low organisation level. PLEASE!!! REPOST THIS POST, so that more people are informed about the organisation of Olympiads in our country and our government's attitude to education, which for sure demotivates the students. Amicalement, Aydariya❤️ @etoilante
