🇵🇱🇻🇦❓ In general, I get the feeling that the idea of "Based Catholic Poland" is already behind us. With Holy Week approaching, and looking at the posts and comments from mainstream right-wing and Christian/Catholic accounts, one thing stands out. In the past, these accounts would have been full of posts about Poland, which was described as "the Catholic country of Europe," just as Ireland once was, or Spain was for most of its history. That no longer seems to be the case. In general, I see two trends. In the West, we are seeing a revival of Catholicism, supported by iconic traditional, cultural, and artistic elements, such as Holy Week in Spain. The Pope is American, there is a revival of Catholicism among the young in France, the Irish are burning refugee centers, and in heretical countries such as the Netherlands or the USA, Catholicism is gaining strength. People can now look for examples closer to home, without needing to project "basedness" onto some distant image. In many cases, these are cultural expressions recognized as part of humanity's heritage, or examples of much greater courage, being Christian in hostile territory rather than in a place where hardly anyone cares very much. Meanwhile, Catholicism continues to decline in Poland. They are where many other countries were 20 or 30 years ago, with fewer priests and fewer people going to church. It is most likely that these numbers may converge in the future with Western ones, since it is true that, as a percentage of the population, more people still go to church in Poland than in Spain or France, but we will see what happens once the boomers die off. At the same time, Poland is culturally very different from Western Catholicism in its cultural and social expression, undoubtedly much more Protestant and dull, which may be part of the Prussian legacy. The country is surrounded by some of the most atheist countries in Europe, such as East Germany, the Czech Republic, or Sweden, and they are obviously more similar culturally to them, than to Irish or French peoples. There is a trend in Polish nationalist and Catholic circles and organizations to copy the cultural and religious expressions of Western Catholic countries, such as the Three Kings at Christmas or Holy Week processions, but the problem is obvious: these traditions are not native. Even people who are somewhat religious often see them as strange, which is only natural. By contrast, for people in the West who may not be very religious, these traditions are still part of their childhood and their identity, which can draw them back toward the Church at some point. Overall, I find it quite amusing that while a socialist president like Pedro Sanchez in Spain is defending Catholics in the Holy Land against the satanic Judeo-Americans, and Italy is closing its air bases following the example of Spain, or Ireland is condemning all of this, Poland just keeps swallowing Jewish cock, we have also the election results in which the left won, simply put the generation that was raised with Jan Pawel II is simply dying off… Meanwhile, you have accounts in the style of Visegrad24 crying out and saying, we are still here, pay attention to us, give us love, let us go back to 2014. #meta #nationalism#Poland #Christianity #autism
