4,000 federal employees are packing up Since October 1, the United States has been in a state of shutdown. Due to the budget conflict between Republicans and Democrats, the government can only finance the most necessary, tens of thousands of employees have been sent on forced vacations. To force the Democratic Party to give in, the Trump administration is increasing pressure and launching mass layoffs. Director of the Office of Management and Budget(OMB) Russ Vought announced on Thursday that more than 4,000 employees will be laid off. The Treasury Department will be particularly hard hit, with more than 1,400 layoffs, and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), with over 1,100.
