Survey: 41% of Executives Expect Workforce Reduction Due to AI A recent survey of senior business executives indicates that 41% anticipate a smaller workforce within five years as a result of AI implementation. The study, involving 2,000 executives from large companies globally, highlights a prevailing mindset towards leveraging AI for potential job cuts. Despite concerns regarding generative AI and vendor accountability, the survey underscores a prevalent appetite among business leaders for leveraging AI to streamline operations. However, only half of the surveyed executives plan to redeploy affected employees, emphasizing the need for organizations to prioritize upskilling and reskilling initiatives. Germany and France exhibit the highest expectations for reduced employment due to AI, with 49% of respondents expressing such sentiments. Conversely, Singapore demonstrates the lowest figure at 32%, while the United States stands at 36%. While 57% of respondents believe human skills will remain paramount in the workplace, the remaining 43% reflect a notable divergence in opinion. On a positive note, 78% of executives acknowledge the critical role of AI, particularly in providing upskilling and development opportunities. Despite uncertainties surrounding AI's actual impact on employment, the survey reflects heightened expectations within certain business sectors. #AI#AIjobs
