🇮🇶#Iraq - ☀️#Kurdistan: Fighters from the Kurdish Herki tribe have threatened to blow up Kurdistan’s biggest oil refinery and other power-plants run by the Barzani-led government. They demand the withdrawal of security forces from the village of Lajan. The refinery in the footage is owned by Barzanis.
Residents of Lajan say this refinery has polluted their village for years, causing health and environmental problems.
This new threat comes after an assault on the village by Barzani led KDP security forces, where villagers from the Herki tribe were forced to evacuate at gunpoint for protesting against the situation.
As a response, members of the Herki tribe have stormed and torched several headquarters in the Khabat district, vowing to continue until displaced families are allowed to return.
In the first video, the militants issue an ultimatum: If forces do not withdraw within two hours, the refineries will be destroyed. The other two videos show ongoing clashes in the region.
