Grateful to present at the 10th International Symposium on Sturgeons in Yichang, China. In my talk, I shared urgent findings on the Amu Darya false shovelnose sturgeons (Pseudoscaphirhynchus kaufmanniand P. hermanni), highlighting: 🔻Distribution collapse across their historical range 📉Body size reductions and altered biometric patterns 🧬Decreasing genetic diversity, signaling long-term population decline ⚠️Cultural drivers of poaching, including beliefs and traditions fueling illegal exploitation These species are facing a multidimensional crisis. Without immediate action—biological, institutional, and cultural—we risk losing them forever. Thanks to the organizers and colleagues who continue to lead critical conversations around sturgeon survival and river conservation. https://t.me/EvolutionaryGenomics
