🎙Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting media corporation(Moscow, December 15, 2025) Read in full Key points: • Throughout history, Europe has repeatedly been a source of all evil and spawn of deepest crises. <...> Europe is now trying again to dictate to everyone its terms and wishes which seem to be connected with the Ukraine crisis. • Europe is using it to assert itself, to throw sand in the wheels and scheme against the United States and all those who seek a just settlement. • The theory and practices of Nazism are being resurrected in Europe, primarily in Brussels but also in Berlin, London, Paris, not to mention the Baltic States. • Europe is waging a war with us once again with Ukrainians under a Nazi flag, <...> pumping Ukraine with increasingly more modern weapons. • One of major purposes [of the new US National Security Strategy] is to make Europe know its place and to prevent it from imposing its liberal ways • The United States wants to set up its policy for opposing China. <...> We are not against competition, however, it should be fair. • Europeans have theft running in their blood, which we can see from the example of “frozen” Russian assets. By the way, Iranian assets are also partially frozen like Venezuelan assets and assets of many other countries. • The West, including the United States, do not always has enough power to maintain its domination, and thus they have to resort to dirty, anti-democratic and anti-market methods. • The West is planning and trying to split the group of the five Caspian states and impose decisions which will not get a consensus of the Caspian countries. • The second outrageous example is Palestine. Not only was the UN Security Council resolution violated in this case, but also a great number of resolutions of both the Security Council and the UN General Assembly. • The last year’s developments around the Iranian nuclear programme, the absolutely outrageous illegitimate actions by Europeans, the attempts to put the blame on the Islamic Republic of Iran for the collapse of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (#JCPOA), <...> reaffirms that the entire world order is being subject to most severe tests. • When Iran was attacked by Israel followed by the United States, we condemned those actions as having absolutely nothing to do with international legality. The key is that so far no one has offered any clear evidence that Iran has violated something, neither the IAEA, nor the Israelis, nor the Americans. • Russia is firm in its commitment to ensuring the Islamic Republic of Iran its unconditional right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, just as any other country. • Russia and Iran signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty. We will always support Iran and promote its legitimate rights. • Our bilateral plans [with Iran] are serious enough as are our plans of cooperation in the world arena. I mean in #BRICS, the #SCO and the #EAEU. This includes the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. • We are also engaged in investment cooperation. In addition to the North–South corridor, there is also such a flagship project as the Bushehr NPP – its construction is ongoing. • There is a promising format that will help strengthen security in the [Middle East] – I am referring to the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Gulf Cooperation Council (#GCC). • There is the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, and we want to work with the Islamic Republic of Iran and with other neighbouring countries, including within this organisation’s framework. • In recent months, the Islamist Republic has made it clear that it is not seeking war or new conflicts. • In the United States and certain countries of Europe <...> there are people who have been speaking out in favour of reviving the arms limitation and control frameworks, including transparency measures. Iran and Russia have been proactive in backing this approach.

🇷🇺🇨🇳 Russia's President Vladimir Putin and President of China Xi Jinping made a media statement following Russia-China talks (May 16, 2024) 💬Vladimir Putin: The talks we have just finished highlighted the great significance that Moscow and Beijing attach to the development and strengthening of comprehensive Russia-China partnership and strategic interaction. This partnership can certainly set an example of ties between neighbouring states. Key talking points: • This state visit takes place in the year of the 75th Anniversary of our diplomatic relations. Our country was the first to recognise the People’s Republic of China on October 2, 1949, the day after its declaration. • I want to note the significance of the Joint Statement we have adopted, which sets new objectives and long-term directives for advancing the entire spectrum of Russian-Chinese relations. 📈 In 2023, bilateral trade surged by a quarter, reaching a new milestone of $240 billion, as reported by Chinese statistics. While there may be a slight variance in figures, the overall total is entirely accurate. <...> Currently, there are over 80 priority projects valued at approximately $200 billion in progress or in preparation for implementation through the respective intergovernmental commission. • Our talks have reaffirmed that Russia and China have similar or identical views on many international and regional issues. Both countries have an independent and sovereign foreign policy. We are working together to create a fairer and more democratic multipolar world order. • We have agreed to further improve communication between credit and banking institutions of Russia and China, while actively employing national payment systems to support our economic operators. 🤝 Russia and China are fruitfully working together in #BRICS and the #SCO. <...> Our countries are resolved to continue working to align integration processes underway within the framework of the #EAEU with China's Belt and Road Initiative. 🎙Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview with France Télévisions(March 26, 2026, Moscow) Read in full ❓Question: Let us turn to the situation in the Middle East. The US and Israel have launched a military operation against Iran. It has now been going on for 20 days. You have done much to defend your ally – Iran. Why? 💬Sergey Lavrov: We have been defending not so much the Islamic Republic as – first and foremost – international law. Iran is not an ally per se, but a strategic partner, as reflected in the relevant Treaty. I do not think that the French, who have traditionally and historically also claimed to stand on the side of international law, fail to see what is happening. In fact, one does not even need to “see” it – we are watching it unfold in real time. When US President Donald Trump says that international law does not interest him and that he will be guided by his own moral principles and instincts, this can hardly be met with approval. Russia has repeatedly signalled to the Americans the need to establish dialogue on resolving all the problems of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East region as a whole. ☝️Every time the US and its allies interfere in the processes unfolding in the region, the situation becomes ever more dismal. Iraq, Syria and Libya have been destroyed – and no one knows when Libya will be “put back together”. The same is now happening to Iran. Moreover, this is already the second time in a row that aggression against this country has begun at the height of negotiations. Everyone is talking about this. It cannot but raise serious questions about the American negotiators who were supposedly conducting this political and diplomatic process. When senior members of the US administration speak with bravado and pride about the cold-blooded killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader and other members of the country’s leadership, it is difficult to call this anything other than cynicism. <...> ❓ Question: You say that the US and Israel are violating international law in Iran. Can we ask you the same question and say that Russia is violating international law in Ukraine? 💬Sergey Lavrov: It is not me who is telling you that the US and Israel are violating international law in Iran. It is a fact that no one denies, including the French leadership and a number of other EU countries. On other continents as well, Everyone understands perfectly well what is going on. <...> What is the difference between the situation in Iran and that in Ukraine? The difference is that the Islamic Republic has not violated any international obligations, including with regard to its nuclear programme. In 2015, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (#JCPOA) was signed. It was endorsed by the UN Security Council. The JCPOA was dismantled by the US when, in 2017, during President Trump’s first term, it withdrew from the plan in violation of all its obligations. Iran violated nothing. Ukraine violated everything that could be violated, together with its Western patrons (*above all, the Minsk Agreements endorsed by the UN Security Council). And when, in December 2021, we proposed concluding treaties with the US and NATO on security guarantees that would ensure a balanced model of security and stability based on a balance of interests between Russia, Ukraine and the West, we were told that this was none of our business and that Ukraine would join NATO. 👉 Therefore, to say that we gave no warning, or that France, Germany and Ukraine’s other patrons did not know they were steering things towards a crisis, in my view, is not quite correct. I have not the slightest doubt that serious French political analysts and politicians fully understand what this is about and what lies at the root of the current crisis.

📺 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’sgreetings and video message on Diplomats’ Day (February 10, 2026) 💬 Friends, Today marks Diplomats’ Day, our professional holiday. I would like to use this occasion to wish a happy holiday to all Russian diplomats who are working at the Central Office and territorial offices, and diplomats fulfilling their duty abroad. The history of Russian diplomacy spans many centuries and follows every stage of Russia becoming stronger as a state. Times change, but our spiritual and moral values — sincere, dedicated, and selfless devotion to the Fatherland, and firm commitment to the ideals of truth and justice — remain unshakeable. We are rightfully proud of the achievements of our outstanding predecessors. We honour the courage of the staff of the People’s Commissariat for Foreign Affairs who, during the tumultuous years of the Great Patriotic War, took arms to defend the Motherland. Their immortal feat stands as a benchmark for Foreign Ministry personnel and staff of subordinate institutions participating in the special military operation. Other ministerial staff members are also involved and are helping the front line soldiers and their families, and supporting those affected by crimes committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis. Today, as we are witnessing another turning point in history, Russian diplomacy continues to do everything within its power to ensure safe and favourable external conditions for Russia’s steady domestic development and for improving the quality of life of its people. In many ways, our consistent and balanced foreign policy course sets the trajectory of global transformations, thus facilitating the emergence of a new multipolar world order. We seek to further develop honest and equitable international cooperation based on mutual understanding, trust, and neighbourliness. Following President Putin’s initiative, we are working to establish, across the Eurasian region, architecture of equal and indivisible security and extensive practical cooperation. In this context, we attach particular importance to the conclusion and implementation of bilateral agreements, including our treaties on security guarantees with Belarus and on comprehensive strategic partnership with the DPRK and Iran. We continue to expand relations across multiple areas with the World Majority, among them countries such as China, India, and other like-minded countries, our strategic partners and allies, primarily within the #CSTO, the #EAEU, and the #CIS, as well as the #SCO and #BRICS. Countering neo-colonial practices of all kinds ranging from unilateral coercive measures to military interventions remains firmly in our focus. In this context, we reaffirm our solidarity with the peoples of Venezuela and Cuba. We are convinced that only they can determine their own future. ☝️ The country’s leadership and Russian society hold our work to high standards. We are required to demonstrate discipline and dedication, as well as a passionate and creative approach to our duties. I trust that you will continue to work honourably for the good of the Fatherland and to contribute your share to addressing large-scale foreign policy goals set by the President. On this day, we express special gratitude to former ministerial employees, who taught us the fundamentals of diplomacy by their example. Many of them, to the extent of their abilities, remain active in the close-knit diplomatic ranks. By all means, I would like to separately thank all the relatives and loved ones of our employees. Your unconditional support gives us strength and keeps us focused. It is especially important for those who carry out their diplomatic service far from the Motherland. Once again, happy Diplomats’ Day to all. I wish you excellent health, well-being, and new accomplishments for the benefit of the Fatherland. #DiplomatsDay

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at the International Symposium Inventing the Future 📉Confidence in the dollar is dwindling. Regardless of how events unfold, we will continue to bolster the mechanisms of the #EAEU and the #SCO and deepen ties with members of other integration structures both on the Eurasian continent and globally, paving new avenues for mutually beneficial, genuinely equitable cooperation. This approach yields dividends for all participants without exception. 🤝In this regard, we will persist in promoting the concept of the Greater Eurasian Partnership. Its development will provide a tangible foundation for the realisation of another initiative by Russian President Vladimir Putin, aimed at constructing an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia. This architecture will be open to all countries and associations on our continent without exception which are ready to collaborate in finding universally acceptable solutions. The highly productive International Conference on Eurasian Security, recently held in Minsk with participation from numerous Eurasian countries, associations, and delegations from across the continent, including Western Europe, was specifically dedicated to this topic. 🗺️We aspire that the countries of the Eurasian continent – the largest, fastest-growing, and richest in natural resources – determine their own destinies without external interference and resolve their issues in such a manner that Greater Eurasia will contribute to the construction of a sustainable multipolar world. #EAEU#SCO

✨️ On February 10, the Islamabad Institute of Strategic Studies hosted a roundtable discussion titled "European and Eurasian Security: The View from Moscow and Islamabad," featuring experts from Russia, including IMEMO RAS Director Feodor Voitolovsky and researchers Gleb Makarevich and Maria Khorolskaya. During their presentations, the Russian researchers discussed the historical conditions that led to the collapse of the Euro-Atlantic security system. They emphasized the importance of the initiative proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin to establish a security architecture based on the primary regional integration structures — the #CIS, #SCO, #BRICS, #EAEU, and #CSTO — on the Eurasian continent. Excerpts from Alexander Babakov's speech at the plenary session of theInter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference: 🔸️The policy of the so-called Western world toward the militarization of the Asia-Pacific region — accompanied by the consolidation of NATO's presence and the formation of new military-political blocks — leads to greater instability and hinders the establishment of a just system of international relations based on the principles of international law and mutual respect; 🔸️The #SCO, #BRICS, #ASEAN and the Eurasian Economic Union (#EAEU) promote a unifying, peaceful agenda; 🔸The United Nations—which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year — remains the cornerstone of the modern system of international relations. The #UN is a bastion of multilateralism and the primary mechanism for addressing contemporary challenges, such as armed conflicts, poverty, hunger, climate change, terrorism, and inequality between states; 🔸 The UN is currently in crisis. The disappointment in the UN seems to stem from overly high expectations that fail to consider the fact that the UN's effectiveness hinges on the political will, negotiating ability and vision of its member states—qualities that are lacking in our time. The crisis engulfing the United Nations is rooted in the selfish approach of a small group of Western countries, driven by their desire to maintain their "reign" over the world; 🔸Russia will continue to seek a fair and sustainable architecture for international relations, based on the UN and strict adherence to the principles of its Charter in their entirety, comprehensiveness and interconnection.

✨️ On February 9, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev participated in a seminar titled "The Legacyof Russian Diplomacy: Current Statusand Prospects for Pakistan-Russia Relations,” hosted by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute. The event was timed to coincide with #DiplomatsDay and featured an exhibition highlighting the key milestones in the development of Russian diplomacy. In his speech, Ambassador Khorev provided a detailed overview of the pivotal events that have shaped the Russian diplomatic service and the individuals who have played a prominent role in it. ❗️Albert P. Khorev highlighted Russia's current foreign policy priorities: upholding the principles and goals of the UN Charter, forming a multipolar world order based on sovereign equality, combating neo-Nazism and neo-colonialism, preserving the memory of World War II, and preventing the rewriting of its history. 🤝 The Ambassador noted that, from 1970 to 1990, the Soviet Union provided Pakistan with assistance in developing its industry. This included the construction of the Pakistan Steel Mills and the Guddu, Jamshoro, and Muzaffargarh thermal power plants. 🇷🇺🇵🇰 Since the 2000s, when Russia, the successor state to the USSR, began pursuing an active, multi-vector foreign policy and increased cooperation with countries in the Global South, the two countries have established a dynamic political dialogue and regular high-level contacts. The Russian Ambassador praised the two countries' coordinated efforts on the international stage, particularly at the #UN and #SCO. He emphasized Russia and Pakistan's commitment to combating international terrorism, extremism, neo-colonialism, neo-Nazism, Islamophobia, and discrimination based on nationality or religion. The Ambassador also noted the potential for cooperation between Islamabad and the #BRICS New Development Bank. Given the recent establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Armenia, he suggested exploring cooperation with the #EAEU as well. Read in full Watch in English

🎙Statement by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during the UN Security Council meeting on multilateral cooperation in the interest of a more just, democratic and sustainable world order (New York, July 16, 2024) 💬 The actions of the US and its allies are hindering international cooperation and the creation of a more just world. They have taken countries and regions hostage, prevent nations from realising their sovereign rights declared in the UN Charter <...> I am confident that this situation can be changed if there is good will, of course. To stop the implementation of a negative scenario, we would like to propose to discuss a number of steps towards restoring trust and stabilising the international situation. 1. The root causes of the ongoing crisis in Europe should be eliminated once and for all. The conditions for restoring stable peace in Ukraine have been put forth by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. A political and diplomatic settlement should be complemented with practical steps, to be taken in the West and the Euro-Atlantic community, to remove threats to the Russian Federation. The coordination of mutual guarantees and agreements should be based on the recognition of the new geostrategic realities on the Eurasian continent, where a continental architecture of really equal and indivisible security is taking shape. Europe risks lagging behind this objective historical process. We are ready to discuss a balance of interests. 2. The restoration of the regional and global balance of forces should be accompanied with active efforts to eliminate injustices in the global economy. There must be no monopoly in monetary and financial regulation, trade and technologies, by definition. <...> 3. Major fundamental changes are necessary in other institutes of global governance if we want them to work to the benefit of all. This primarily concerns the United Nations Organisation, which remains the embodiment of multilateralism against all the odds, with unique and universal legitimacy and universally recognised broad competencies. An important step towards the restoration of the UN’s effectiveness would be the reconfirmation by all Member States of their commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, not selectively but in their entirety and as a whole. <...> 4. Regional associations have practical significance for the development of multipolarity, including the #CIS, the #CSTO, the #EAEU, #ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council (#GCC), the Arab League, the African Union and #CELAC. <...>. *** ❗️It depends on member countries alone whether our world will be diverse and equitable. The Charter of our Organisation is our foothold. 👉Read in full

📄Vladimir Putinsent a message of greetings to President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to congratulate them on the Day of the Eurasian Economic Union(May 29, 2025). ✍️Vladimir Putin: Please accept my heartfelt greetings on the Day of the Eurasian Economic Union. Integration processes within #EAEU have gathered substantial momentum and have been quite fruitful. We created a common market, which provides for the free movement of goods, services, capital and labour. There is an ongoing effort to harmonise our national regulations in key sectors, while we succeed in undertaking joint economic and infrastructure projects. I am certain that we will keep doing everything to step up our constructive multi-faceted cooperation for the benefit of our peoples and to ensure well-being and stability across the Eurasian space. I wish you good health and success, and happiness and prosperity to your fellow citizens.
