Сергеевым стороны обсудили широкий круг вопросов, представляющих взаимный интерес. Был отмечен значительный потенциал для развития торгово-экономических связей, а также сотрудничества в сферах промышленности, инноваций, туризма и культуры.
🤝 Результатом переговоров стало подписание Меморандума о взаимопонимании, определившего ключевые направления межрегионального партнерства.
«Мы видим большой потенциал для взаимодействия, особенно в таких отраслях, как лесопромышленный комплекс, машиностроение и туризм. Провинция Северный Кейп обладает уникальным опытом в переработке камня, алмазодобыче и природными ресурсами, туристическим потенциалом. Мы уверены, что наше сотрудничество будет взаимовыгодным», — отметил заместитель Премьер-министра Правительства РК О.А. Ермолаев.
📌 Программа визита также включает знакомство с экономическим и культурным потенциалом региона: делегация посетит ведущие промышленные предприятия, включая АО «Кондопожский ЦБК», «ЭФЭР», МБ Барбелл.

✔️🇷🇺🇿🇦 A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Petrozavodsk between the Republic of Karelia and the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.
Premier of the Northern Cape Zamani Saul arrived in Karelia on an official visit.
During his meeting with the First Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia – Prime Minister of the Government of Karelia Andrey Sergeev, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest. They noted significant potential for strengthening trade and economic ties, as well as cooperation in industry, innovation, tourism and culture.
🤝 The main outcome of the talks was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which defined the key directions of interregional partnership.
“We see great potential for cooperation, particularly in such areas as the forest industry, mechanical engineering and tourism. The Northern Cape has unique expertise in stone processing, diamond mining and possesses rich natural resources and tourism potential. We are confident that our cooperation will be mutually beneficial,” emphasized O.A. Ermolaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Karelia for Economic Affairs.
📌 The programme of the visit also includes familiarization with Karelia’s economic and cultural potential. The delegation will visit leading industrial enterprises of the region, including Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill, the Firefighting Robotics Engineering Center “EFER”, and MB Barbell.

A delegation of the Government of the Northern Cape Province arrived in the Republic of Karelia
On 28 August 2025, a delegation of the Government of the Northern Cape Province, which is part of the consular district of the Consulate General of Russia in Cape Town, headed by Premier Zamani Saul, arrived in the Republic of Karelia to discuss the prospects for comprehensive bilateral cooperation.
🤝As part of the visit, the signing of an interregional Memorandum of Understanding is envisaged, which will become the first official agreement of the Republic of Karelia with representatives of the African continent. The programme also includes visits to industrial enterprises of mutual interest and a cultural agenda aimed at strengthening humanitarian ties.

🎄Праздничное новогоднее представление для детей соотечественников в Кейптауне, ЮАР
🤝В Кейптауне, при поддержке Генерального консульства Российской Федерации, состоялось яркое и незабываемое новогоднее представление для детей соотечественников. Организаторами мероприятия стали активисты местного отделения Координационного совета организаций российских соотечественников (КСОРС) и неравнодушные граждане, которые собрали более 60 детей и их родителей на праздничное событие.
💫Новый год для детей — это время волшебства, чудес и радости. Именно такие эмоции царили в зале, где ребята смогли поучаствовать в увлекательных конкурсах, увидеть яркие театрализованные постановки и стать свидетелями появления Деда Мороза и Снегурочки. Праздник прошел в теплой атмосфере дружбы, где дети и взрослые могли насладиться настоящим новогодним чудом.

❤️On December 6, 2024, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Cape Town together with ANC Youth Leader in the Western Cape Biula Hevu ahead of the upcoming Christmas holidays, organized a visit to an orphanage located in the Township Khayelitsha in the southern part of Cape Town.
🎗️The visit was part of the Consulate’s traditional charitable initiativeaimed at supporting children who have lost parental care.
🎁During the visit, Consulate staff provided the children with essential food supplies, school uniform, household appliances as well as holiday gifts and toys.
🔨The director of the orphanage showed the results of extensive repairs of the burnt building carried out with the support of the Consulate General of Russia.
🏠Two years ago, the building was completely destroyed by fire, and now with the construction materials provided by the Consulate last year, the necessary restoration works have been fulfilled and the infrastructure of the orphanage was completely renewed.
💬“It is always a great honor for us to help children who find themselves in difficult situations, especially during such an important and warm time as Christmas. We are glad to contribute to the restoration of the orphanage and provide children with essential items for their comfortable living and education,” said the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Cape Town.
🇿🇦🇷🇺The orphanage continues its important work, providing shelter, care, and education to children who have suffered the loss of their families. This visit symbolized the ongoing Russian-South African cooperation in the field of humanitarian assistance and solidarity in supporting those in need.

🇿🇦The marathon was held under the theme “Celebrating 30 years of South African democracy”.
👏🏻The event commemorates the legacy of South Africa’s journey to democracy and honours the contributions of the leaders and freedom fighters who shaped the nation’s history.
🏅Distance of the race was 10km. The employee of the Consulate General showed one of the best results rushing the distance in 43 minutes!
