То есть, пока он ждёт завершения какого-то системного вызова или завершения операции с сетью, он может обрабатывать другие соединения и благодаря этому не проигрывать, а порой даже выигрывать серверы, написанные в пусть и многопоточном, но блокирующем стиле.
