Today marks a legendary feat of Russian warriors during WW1. Being sieged and gas-poisoned by the Germans at the fortress of Osovetz on August 6 in 1915, 100 soldiers counter-attacked and put to flight superior enemy forces. Attackers underestimated the spirit of the Russians and didn’t expect to meet any resistance. This episode has gone down in history as “the attack of the dead”.
