Their main goal was to weaken our country geopolitically, creating direct military threats to us right on our borders, on Russia’s native territories, <...> in an attempt to slash our strategic potential and devalue it as much as possible.
The second reason also has to do with the history of the region, only it was more about the people who have lived on that land for centuries. <...> These people were labelled ‘terrorists’ by the current Ukrainian regime, which came to power through a coup d'etat. And when they refused to accept it, that regime launched an all-out offensive against all things Russian. <...>
There has been a revival in efforts to oppose the Western diktat, with emerging economies and new centres of financial power in China, India, ASEAN, the Arab world, and CELAC. This group also includes a resurgent Russia together with its allies from the EAEU, the CIS, and CSTO. This also includes the SCO and #BRICS.
The United States does not want to have any competitors anywhere, starting with the energy sector. <...> The United States and its allies have placed sanctions policies at the core of what they do on the international stage, including regarding Russia. This demonstrates their refusal to engage in fair economic competition and their commitment to using unfair, aggressive practices for suppressing their opponents.

The exchange was indeed highly productive, as it addressed the most pressing issues currently on the agenda, both internationally and in terms of developing our bilateral relations and contacts.
The conversation lasted approximately an hour, and the Leaders bid each other farewell in a very warm and friendly manner.

Ahead of the talks, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping offered an official welcome ceremony to President of Russia Vladimir Putin, during which the two Leaders introduced their delegations.
Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping held a conversation at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, followed by expanded Russian-Chinese consultations. They covered a range of bilateral cooperation topics and exchanged perspectives on current international and regional issues.

• BRICS is a consortium where no single nation leads or is led, devoid of the bureaucratic machinery akin to that observed in Brussels, where EU officials impose decisions that contravene the will and interests of several member states, failing to align with the aspirations of voters across many countries.
• BRICS does not stand in opposition to any entity, nor does it orchestrate operations or initiate projects. BRICS is committed to enhancing the combined potential of its nations and devising collaborative strategies for harnessing these potentials for mutual benefit.
• What makes BRICS and other World Majority or Global East associations that do not include Western countries stand out, is that they are not created for the purpose of struggling or fighting with anyone. How can Pakistan use its relations with SCO and BRICS countries in line with this strategy to promote secure and mutually beneficial economic cooperation? What would you say about the current relations between Russia and Pakistan?
💬Sergey Lavrov: Relations are developing in an upward direction. This is the most positive period in many decades. There are a number of projects to restore what was created in the Soviet period for the Pakistani economy.
❗️There is mutual interest in practical cooperation in the fight against terrorism. Pakistan also suffers from it. The fight against terrorism requires joint efforts with your Afghan neighbors, with India, with all SCO members, because Central Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan are used by "bad people" to plan and implement their criminal plans.
The SCO has an anti-terrorist structure. It works well. There is an exchange of information. Taking into account the fact that the financing of terrorism is seriously linked to drug trafficking (a form of organized crime), for several years we have been promoting the initiative to create a single center to combat new threats, including terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime and human trafficking. This year we will begin to implement such a decision.
I would like to emphasize that all these organizational measures are important, but it is more important to build confidence within the SCO, within the format that is currently working on Afghanistan (Russia, China, Pakistan and Iran).
