🎙 Comment by Russian Ambassador to South Africa Roman Ambarov to TASS (August 5, 2025) ❓Question: What charitable initiatives is the Russian Embassy in South Africa involved in? 💬Roman Ambarov: Russia has always been and remains a reliable friend of the Republic of South Africa—not only in the fields of political, economic, cultural, and educational cooperation, but also in providing humanitarian aid. In its work, the Russian Embassy in South Africa follows a principle supported by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin: “African solutions to African problems.” We regularly take part in charitable initiatives organized by South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation during #MandelaDay and #MandelaMonth. In July of this year, together with other foreign diplomatic missions, we supported a primary school in Gauteng Province that is in dire need of funding by donating chalkboards and food for the students. I would like to emphasize that our charitable work is not limited to one-time actions. It is a year-round, systematic effort carried out by our Embassy staff. Two South African children’s institutions are under the care of the Russian diplomatic mission — the Bophelong Children’s Home in Mamelodi and the New Jerusalem Children’s Home in Midrand. Our diplomats regularly visit the children, show genuine interest in their lives and challenges, and offer help whenever possible. Our aim is not only to provide necessities but also to bring joy and positive emotions. It has already become a tradition to invite children from these institutions to screenings of Russian films, organized by the Embassy in one of Pretoria’s theaters. Last year, together with the parish of the Russian Orthodox Church in Johannesburg, we hosted a screening of the popular animated film Masha and the Bear for the children of New Jerusalem. The joy and excitement on the children’s faces as they clapped and sang along with Masha was the greatest reward for us. These events are usually accompanied by friendly tea parties with Russian pastries, as well as educational presentations about Russia, our culture, traditions, and holidays. As Nelson Mandela once said, “There can be no greater gift than giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.” We fully share this philosophy and try to embody it in our work. #RussiaHelps

#RussiaHelps 🇷🇺🇱🇧 Russia's EMERCOM continues to render humanitarian assistance to the people of Lebanon, delivers a third batch of aid, 24 tonnes of: 📦 Child nutrition and food; 📦 Basic necessities; 📦 Medical supplies. This is the third humanitarian delivery to Lebanon by a special flight of Russia's EMERCOM.

🇷🇺Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation: ⚡️ Russia's EMERCOM dispatches two aircraft carrying rescue personnel to the Republic of Myanmar to assist in earthquake recovery efforts. By order of Russian President Vladimir Putin and under the instructions of Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov, a contingent of Russian rescue specialists departed from Zhukovsky Airport for Myanmar. The unit, comprising 120 specialists from the Ministry’s airmobile detachment, Tsentrospas, and the Leader special risk rescue centre. The team also includes K9 search units, anesthesiologists, and psychologists. 👩🚒 Russian emergency responders possess extensive expertise in responding to natural disasters, including major earthquakes. They are equipped with all necessary gear for search and rescue operations. Help is coming! #RussiaHelps

⚡️ Russia's EMERCOM delivers yet another batch of humanitarian aid to those in need in the Gaza Strip. Aboard the latest plane were 30 tonnes of food supplies and personal care products. The aid was handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, which will deliver it to the people in the conflict zone. In total Russia has already shared 190 tonnes of humanitarian aid. 🇷🇺 Russia's EMERCOM delivered 25 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip ✅ Food; ✅ Personal care products; ✅ Clothing; ✅ Portable stoves; ✅ Blankets. The humanitarian assistance is organised on the instructions of Russia's President Vladimir Putin. The aid was delivered to the territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt and handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. Russian Embassy continues to provide humanitarian aid to the residents of the Kingdom affected by the border conflict. On January 23, H.E. Mr Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador of Russia, and diplomatic mission staff visited the Cambodian Red Cross, and handed over essential commodities, including household chemicals and personal-care products, to H.E. On December 23, H.E. Mr Anatoly Borovik, Russian Ambassador, led the delegation of the diplomatic mission to the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), where he met with H.E. Ms Pum Chantini, Secretary General of the organization, who briefed about the humanitarian situation in connection with the escalation of the conflict with Thailand. On behalf of the Embassy, H.E. Mr Anatoly Borovik donated 2 tons of rice, 1,375 packs of noodles, 75 liters of sunflower oil, 75 liters of fish sauce, 54 liters of soy sauce, and 1,200 liters of bottled drinking water as aid to the Cambodian residents forced to leave their homes. #RussiaCambodia#RussiaHelps

Zelenski a declarat în mod cinic despre obiectivul Ucrainei de a crea un fel de „zonă tampon” în această regiune a Rusiei.
