⚛️ In 2024, Russia marks the 4️⃣0️⃣th anniversary of the launch of the first power unit at the Zaporozhskaya nuclear power plant (ZNPP). With the participation of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Rosatom State Corporation, and other Russian government bodies, a series of documentary films has been produced, tracing the history of ZNPP and its return to Russia’s nuclear energy system. The first episode explores the key stages in the plant’s development — from its construction and the commissioning of the first power unit in 1984, to its expansion and ongoing operations. The film highlights ZNPP’s status as the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and the world’s first to generate 1 trillion kWh of electricity.
