🌍🇿🇦11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) On 1 October 2025, the 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) commenced in Kleinmond, South Africa. The central theme of the meeting was the role of parliamentary diplomacy in advancing global solidarity, equality and sustainability. 🎙️ Welcoming addresses were delivered by A.T. Didiza, Speaker of the National Assembly of South Africa, R. Mtshweni-Tsipane, Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, F. Charumbira, President of the Pan-African Parliament, and G. Morauskas-Stanecka, Vice-President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. On behalf of the President of South Africa, the participants were addressed by Mmamoloko Kubayi, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development. 💬 In their statements, heads of delegations emphasized the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation in responding to global crises, combating gender and racial inequality, promoting inclusive representation in international institutions, and ensuring parliamentary commitments in the interests of justice, equality and sustainable development. 💡 The first working session was devoted to issues of responding to emergencies and disasters, including enhancing preparedness, ensuring parliamentary oversight of resource allocation, and fostering inter-parliamentary cooperation. 🇷🇺 The delegation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation at the Summit was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev. 📌 The work of the Summit will resume on 2 October, focusing on debt sustainability and the just energy transition.
