The International Day of Culture is celebrated all over the world on April 15 🎨 The date was not chosen by chance: on this day in 1935 the Roerich Pact, an international agreement on the protection of cultural property, was signed. Its initiator, the artist and thinker Nicholas Roerich, believed that culture is the foundation of peace and unity of people, regardless of borders and differences. Since then, the idea of caring for cultural heritage has become an important part of the global agenda. Today, this holiday reminds us that culture is not only art and history, but also a language of dialogue, a bridge between countries and generations. Through music, literature, theatre and education connections are formed that are stronger than political and geographical distances. ✨ Cultural relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Africa are of particular importance in this context. Both countries have a rich and multifaceted cultural heritage, and their cooperation covers a wide range of areas: from educational exchanges to joint exhibitions, festivals, and research projects. These ties help to strengthen mutual understanding and open up new horizons for dialogue. 👉🏻Read more about cultural cooperation in a recent interview with the Russian Ambassador to South Africa, R.Ambarov (in Russian): https://tass.ru/politika/26926995
