💬 Russia and Africa are bound by long-standing and close ties.
Today, the countries of the continent are striving to finally overcome the remnants of colonial dependence and to strengthen their national sovereignty, above all in the economic and financial spheres.
Those who describe the current period as Africa’s “second awakening” after the decolonisation of the 1960s are right. It was then that political independence was proclaimed, above all thanks to the decisive role of the Soviet Union, which promoted the relevant declarations at the UN.
☝️Recent years have shown that neo-colonial dependence has by no means disappeared. Economically and financially, in terms of control over trade routes and financial flows, Africa still does not enjoy full independence and continues, in economic terms, to serve as a source of raw materials.
👉The lion’s share of added value is still generated elsewhere – to a large extent, and decisively so, in the former metropolitan powers.
African partners spoke about this more than once at the two Russia-African Union summits held in Sochi in 2019 and in St Petersburg in 2023. The decisions adopted at those summits should serve as guidelines in preparing for the next summit, which we plan to hold later this year.
All this will contribute to Africa’s economic emancipation, ensure that it reaps the proper returns and benefits from its natural resources, and support the emergence of the African continent as one of the centres of the rising #MultipolarWorld.
🤝 I would like to stress in particular that we are restoring our presence on the African continent fairly rapidly, after it declined sharply during the breakup of the Soviet Union. At present, Russia has 45 embassies operating across the continent, with four more set to open in the near future.
The key upcoming event on the foreign policy calendar is the third Russia-Africa Summit. It is due to be held in Moscow – this has been agreed – in late October this year. Preparations are currently underway. We count on the active participation of Russian regions in the relevant thematic sessions of this summit.
I would once again like to underscore the special importance we attach to the interregional dimension of Russia-Africa relations. It is a solid foundation which, as it grows stronger, helps ensure the steady development of relations with our partners at the national level.

▫️Укрепляем образовательное партнерство между Россией и Бангладеш!
В Удмуртском государственном университете состоялась встреча с Торговым советником Посольства Народной Республики Бангладеш в Российской Федерации д-ром Шахом Мохаммадом Хабибул Хасаном. Встреча прошла в Учебно-научной библиотеке им. В.А. Журавлёва и была посвящена обсуждению перспектив сотрудничества в сфере образования между вузами Удмуртской Республики и образовательными учреждениями Бангладеш.
В ходе визита прошли рабочие обсуждения с руководителями и представителями международных служб вузов Удмуртии, к диалогу присоединились иностранные студенты из Бангладеш. Д-р Шах Мохаммад Хабибул Хасан с большим интересом расспросил студентов УдГУ о их жизни и учебе в университете, узнал о возможностях, которые им предоставляет вуз, и их впечатлениях от пребывания в России. В ходе встречи Торговый советник Посольства Народной Республики Бангладеш в Российской Федерации несколько раз отметил, что образование в России – лучшее в мире.
Состоялись презентации вузов Удмуртской Республики — УдГУ, ИжГТУ, ИГМУ — с акцентом на международные программы, академическую мобильность и совместные проекты.
Визит д-ра Хабибул Хасана стал важным шагом к укреплению международных связей и развитию образовательного сотрудничества между Россией и Бангладеш. Благодарим всех участников за активное вовлечение и открытый обмен идеями!

Her help is especially pronounced in terms of Writing, as she has written two enlightening books on this part of the test. 💯💯💯
2. Simon Corcoran — an ex-examiner who paved the way for many current online IELTS instructors. Although a bit dated, his iconic video lessons are still relevant and invaluable. He is also known for his sample answers, which you can in this compilation made by Diyorbek Hayitmurodov.
3. Chris Pell — the founder of IELTS Advantage and an IELTS Instructor. He helps hundreds and thousands of test takers get their desired score either with his paid lessons or free lessons such as his mini-courses on YouTube.
4. Keith O'hare — should you need help with IELTS Speaking, Mr. O'hare is your go-to teacher. In addition to posting videos on his YouTube channel, he also happens to have his premium courses on Speaking.
5. Eli Howes — another YouTube persona who has raised to the spotlight only recently. I am a big fan of mock exams he did with Professor Conor. His channel is yet another gem for IELTS Speaking.

A final travel note from Igor Chausov and Pavel Melnikov from China — on the role of hydrogen in the country’s energy strategy.
🚌 At a bus stop on the outskirts of Shanghai, a bus with green plates and the words “Fuel Cell” on its side pulls up as part of everyday routine, passengers getting on and off.
We observed this not only in megacities but also in many county-level cities across China: hydrogen buses, together with the more widespread electric buses, have largely displaced diesel vehicles.
🚜Beyond buses, a wide range of hydrogen-powered equipment is already operating — either in pilot mode or commercially — on Chinese roads:
trucks and trailers
mining dump trucks
bulldozers
water trucks
street sweepers
garbage trucks
warehouse forklifts
shunting locomotives
👉 This diversity is supported by the rapid development of hydrogen fuel cells and the expansion of industrial-scale production of these next-generation power systems.
🔌Hydrogen is also used in stationary applications:
power supply for remote mining and infrastructure sites
autonomous ultra-fast EV charging hubs
telecom infrastructure
off-grid settlements
🏭 While the chemical industry still largely supplies “grey” hydrogen to transport and other sectors, it is simultaneously launching numerous projects to switch from coal and scarce natural gas to green hydrogen — with expectations of cost reductions driven by cheaper renewables and electrolyzers.
🎯Key takeaway
China’s energy strategy avoids binary choices and instead follows a “middle path” (中道, Zhong Dao).
👉 It does not choose between electrification and hydrogen.
Instead, it treats hydrogen:
as a tool for electrifying industry and transport
and as a bridge between the world of “molecules” (chemicals, fuels) and the world of “electrons” (powering transport, industry, and utilities)
📌Bottom line:
In China, hydrogen is not an alternative to electrification — it is an integral part of a broader, system-level energy transition.
