The Ministers also discussed key aspects of the global and regional agenda, emphasising the latest developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, the situation around Lebanon, and the current state of affairs in Syria, where the mobilisation of broad external efforts under the auspices of the UN is required to facilitate an inclusive national dialogue involving all political, ethnic, and religious Syrian forces.
They stressed their mutual commitment to maintaining close foreign policy coordination, including at international organisations.

Moscow reaffirmed its position that the prospects for stabilization must not be jeopardised by a resumption of hostilities, which would cause civilian casualties and damage civilian infrastructure both in Iran and in neighbouring Arab countries.
The Foreign Ministers agreed to remain in contact and work towards aligning the approaches of all parties involved in the search for a long-term, sustainable settlement.
Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated Sergey Lavrov on the upcoming Victory Day. The Ministers shared the view that it is necessary to strengthen the multilateral system established on the basis of the UN Charter following World War II.

Sergey Lavrov strongly condemned the attackscarried out by a group of protesters against the UAE Embassy and the residence of the head of its diplomatic mission in Damascus, describing them as a gross violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The conversation also touched upon a number of topical issues related to the further development of the Russia-UAE strategic partnership in line with the agreements reached during talks at the highest level.
