⚡Comment by the Russian Permanent Mission to the EU on the Ninth Package of Anti-Russian Sanctions Adopted by the European Union⚡ The #EU sanctions machine keeps up its momentum. Unilateral restrictive measures against third countries and their citizens have long become a favourite foreign policy tool of Brussels. It is clear to everyone that the EU's aim – to exert pressure on sovereign states – and the means to achieve it are illegitimate. The imposition of restrictive measures runs counter to the system of international financial and trade relations and goes against the fundamental principles of the WTO. Not so long ago Brussels argued that the application of extra-territorial sanctions was unlawful. Yet today, it is Brussels itself that is extensively using them. Moreover, the EU has already invented a mechanism to "punish" both its own and third-country nationals for so-called circumventing anti-Russian sanctions, putting forward a legislative proposal to “criminalise” the “violation” of EU illegitimate sanctions. Is the EU not getting too big for its boots, claiming to be the international policeman and judge? No wonder a growing number of states are heeding our arguments. They are not willing to accept unfair rules of the game and follow the imposed guidelines. 🔹The sanctions agreed in the ninth "package" will not only target Russians, but also directly affect ordinary Europeans. Banning further Russian media outlets, the EU is denying its own citizens an alternative point of view, violating their right to access information, not to mention blatantly trampling on such fundamental values as freedom of expression and the rights of journalists. It is hard to believe that the EU is not aware thereof.

⚡️Comment by the Russian Permanent Mission to the EU on the Tenth Package of Anti-Russian Sanctions Adopted by the European Union⚡️ 🔹The latest #EU restrictive measures against #Russia, like all previous ones, are illegitimate. 🔹For the first time, the EU sanctions "package" has included a prohibition on the transit of certain goods via the territory of the Russian Federation. Such actions are detrimental not so much to Russia as to international trade at large. 🔹Brussels is not only infringing on the rights of the Russian media representatives, but also on those of its own citizens. ❗️The tenth "package" will certainly not be left without a response. 🎙Following the EAEU summit, President of Russia Vladimir Putin answered questions from Russian journalists 📍 Minsk, June 27, 2025 #EAEU As for the outcomes of today’s EAEU summit, we are satisfied with the results and have drawn certain conclusions. The President of Belarus has already noted that our development strategy, which was designed to run until this year, is nearing completion. We are considering how to structure our joint efforts moving forward. However, overall, the results of our work cannot but satisfy us. They satisfy all of us. Why? Because the key aggregate indicator of economic performance is the growth rate. In the EAEU, it exceeds the global average. As is known, global growth stands at 3.3 percent. The EAEU’s growth is over 4 percent – significantly higher. In some countries, it is substantially greater, reaching 5 percent or even approaching 6 percent, in my view. This is, among other things, a direct result of our joint efforts, as the very purpose of our work is to eliminate trade and other economic barriers to cooperation. Without exaggeration, this multiplies the potential for economic growth. #Ukraine Regarding the memorandums [Russian and Ukrainian], as expected, there were no surprises. I will not tell you anything surprising, either. These are two absolutely opposing memorandums, but that is precisely why talks are set up and held – to find ways to bring positions closer. The fact that they were diametrically opposed does not seem surprising to me, either. I would not like to go into details, as I believe it would be counterproductive – even harmful – to get ahead of the talks. With regard to what has been achieved so far following the talks, I think you can see it for yourself. Today, if I am not mistaken, another exchange took place… or was it yesterday? Today, right? And this is important. The humanitarian aspect matters because, as diplomats say, it creates conditions for substantive discussions on core issues. We agreed that after completing these exchanges and the humanitarian operation which we proposed – specifically, the transfer of the servicemen’s bodies – we would press ahead with more contacts. We have already handed over more than 6,000 bodies and are ready to transfer nearly 3,000 more, but it is now up to the Ukrainian side to agree to accept the remains of their fallen soldiers. We agreed that after this phase is completed, we would hold the third round of talks. We are ready for it overall. The venue and the time need to be agreed upon. I expect President Erdogan to keep unchanged his supportive stance with regard to this process. We are very grateful to him for that. We stand ready to hold this meeting in Istanbul. As for the exact timeframe, the heads of the negotiating teams from both sides – who remain in constant, direct contact and regularly get on the phone with each other (which, I believe, is a good sign) – are discussing the date for the next meeting. The agenda? In my opinion, the discussion should focus on the memoranda from both sides. #EU#NATO We are planning to cut the defence expenses next year and the year after, as well during the next three years. The Defence Ministry, the Finance Ministry and the Ministry of Economic Development have yet to reach the final agreement, still, in general, everybody is thinking along these lines. And Europe is thinking about raising its defence expenses. So, who is getting ready for any aggressive actions, us or them? Yes, we do want to complete the special military operation with the result we need. Certainly. This is what we take into account when planning our defence expenses, not aggressive aspirations against Europe and NATO countries. And we want to decrease the expenses, while they want to increase them. 📄Read in full

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’sinterview with RT(Moscow, February 5, 2026) Read in full Key talking points: #Europe#EU#Germany • Over the past 45 days, many European politicians have addressed relations with the Russian Federation. Until recently, they were united in demanding firmness, not scaling back support or weapons supplies to Ukraine, and financing it to make sure Russia suffers a “strategic defeat” on the battlefield. • Recently, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made a comment describing Russia as the largest country in Europe. I must correct this immediately. Russia is the largest country in Eurasia – and in the world. • The Americans have never wanted, and still do not want, to leave the Europeans to their own devices. Their goal is for Europeans to finance all their own military preparations by buying US weaponry, while the US naturally retains control and the role of ‘guardian’ over its NATO allies. • As Euro-Atlantic structures have weakened (the EU having become a mere appendage of NATO, a status even formalised in documents) Germany’s rising profile has caused alarm, not only in our country but in many EU capitals. There is growing resentment and a palpable desire to prevent Germany from subjugating all others once more, especially as Germany’s being “back on track,” proclaimed by Friedrich Merz and his government, is openly linked to the country’s rapid militarisation and preparations for war. • We do maintain contacts with some European leaders. They call and ask us not to publicise the conversations. Some engage in ‘undercover’ contacts here. • I see no coherent position from Europe. They are trapped by their own rhetoric, locked into an uncompromising stance: ‘Russia’s strategic defeat,’ ‘Ukraine cannot lose, and Russia cannot win, otherwise Europe loses face.’ #NATO • We have indeed been “burned” by our trust in those who swore that NATO would not expand eastwards, that Russia would not be marginalised, and that we would forge a common space from Lisbon to Vladivostok – a vast continent of peace and security. • NATO first lost its reason for existence, then found renewed purpose in Afghanistan. When that purpose was publicly, shamelessly trampled before the eyes of the international community, action was needed. So, they regrouped, convened, and contrived the situation we witness today – declaring Russia a “pariah” and identifying Ukraine as the “optimal material” with which to provoke us, a pliable entity to be shaped as they saw fit. #Ukraine • This is nonsense and a quite telling one. What do I mean? For the past year, the West (Europe) has been saying the same thing over and over: there must be solid guarantees of security and an immediate ceasefire. But without addressing issues pertaining to settlement, these security guarantees will implicate that the ceasefire will be exploited to funnel more arms into Ukraine. They did not hear this reasoning; neither did they respond in any way. • What kind of Ukraine we are willing to see as a neighbour for the long, even eternal term? It must be a friendly Ukraine. Not necessarily an ally, but a neutral and benign state. This, of course, implies respect not only for the rights of the people in the territory that will remain part of Ukraine, not only respect for their rights to access basic necessities, such as warmth, food, and water, but also respect for their, if you will, fundamental human rights, including language, education, and religion. • That man [Zelensky] is devoid of shame or conscience, who thinks of nothing but his own survival. For that, he feels compelled to perform some scripted ‘sketches’ on the international stage, which he actually treats as a theatre. • In Anchorage, we accepted the Trump administration’s proposal concerning Ukraine. If everything was as straightforward and decisive as presented, then it would imply that Ukraine had been set aside from our bright path towards future cooperation and prosperity.

🎙 Briefing by Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (Moscow, November 14, 2025) 🔹#KievRegimeCrimes 🔹Ukraine crisis 🔹Moldovan government’s decision to denounce seven CIS agreements 🔹Developments in El Fasher, Sudan 🔹The US counter-narcotics policy in Latin America 🔹Anti-Russian conference in Dublin 🔹G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Canada 📰Read 📺Watch #KievRegimeCrimes The neo-Nazi regime in Kiev continues to terrorise civilians in Russia. Over the past week, 53 Russian citizens suffered from artillery shelling and drone strikes, with 8 people killed and 45 injured, including six children. Russian courts continue to hand down sentences to Ukrainian neo-Nazis and mercenaries. In absentia, mercenaries from Georgia, Colombia, and the Czech Republic who participated in combat on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been sentenced to 28, 13.5, and 13 years in prison. #Ireland#EU#Militarisation Militaristic rhetoric of the [Brussels bureaucracy] finds fertile ground in Dublin, where the ruling coalition <…> is pursuing a course to revise constitutional restrictions on the participation of Irish service members in overseas missions. The Irish run the risk of becoming pawns in reckless geopolitical games of the Westerners (Anglo-Saxons), who are clearly acting against Russia, with all the negative consequences for [Ireland] that this entails. #US#LatinAmerica Since September 2025, we have been witnessing an unprecedented military campaign launched by Washington in Latin America under the pretext of allegedly combating drug-trafficking routes into the United States. We are extremely concerned by the military methods chosen by the United States to address this issue, which amount to little more than blatant interference in the internal affairs of Latin American states. We firmly oppose the use of force or the threat of force to interfere in internal affairs under various pretexts, including counter-narcotics operations. #AxisJapan#WarCrimes#NoStatuteOfLimitations We continue our work on disclosing information about the crimes of Japanese militarism. We have repeatedly emphasised that these crimes have no statute of limitations. Procedural actions aimed at bringing all those responsible to justice continue to this day. Between March and June, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation adopted decisions annulling the conclusions issued in the 1980s–2000s that had granted rehabilitation to 24 Japanese citizens. Following the review of court rulings in cassation and supervisory instances, it was established that these individuals are not subject to rehabilitation. Their guilt has been fully proven. #US#Tariffs From an economic standpoint, the introduction of 500% tariffs on goods from third countries that purchase Russian oil and gas seems absurd. This is tantamount to the discontinuation of all trade relations between countries, as such a tariff rate is prohibitive. Russian energy resources are supplied to dozens of states around the world, including Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, China, and India. It is downright impossible to substitute such volumes of oil and natural gas on the global market within reasonable timeframes. Those who call for [such measures] are likely unaware of the negative consequences this would have both for the United States itself and for the global economy as a whole. Moreover, such a step would be a gross violation of international trade law.
