Как понять фразовые глаголы?
Фразовые глаголы – это сочетания глагола и предлога или наречия, которые в сумме имеют значение, отличающееся от отдельных слов. Например:
Look after – заботиться
Give up – сдаваться
Они часто используются в разговорном английском, и знание их делает речь более естественной и понятной.
Значение частиц:
Частицы (предлоги/наречия) добавляют конкретное значение к глаголу:
Up – завершение (finish up – завершать)
Down – прекращение (slow down – замедляться)
Out – выход (run out – заканчиваться)
In – внутрь (come in – входить)
On – продолжение (carry on – продолжать)
Off – отключение (turn off – выключать)
Значение фразового глагола зависит от контекста.
Например: take off может означать "снимать" или "взлетать".
Виды фразовых глаголов:
