Очень любопытно было почитать о Cognitive traps: Their impact on our decisions (делюсь takeaways) Even the most logical individuals can fall into cognitive traps on a daily basis. Understanding how these traps function can enable us to make wiser choices and influence the decisions of others. 🧩Halo Effect When you are impressed by one characteristic of a person, you may overrate their other traits. For instance, someone with a degree from a well-known university is often perceived as a more competent professional. This effect is also relevant to brands, such as Apple. 🧩Anchoring The initial offer serves as a reference point for subsequent evaluations. For example, if a job candidate states a high salary expectation, the employer might propose a lower figure, which will still seem reasonable because it is near the original anchor. 🧩Precision Information that is presented with a high level of accuracy is regarded as more credible. For instance, figures like "an increase of 8.5%" are more persuasive than "an increase of 10%." Precision gives the impression that the data is reliable. 🧩Framing The way information is presented influences our perception of it. For example, a 0.5% increase in revenue can be framed as a significant step toward financial stability or as a disappointing outcome. The first framing is viewed positively, while the second is seen negatively. 🧩Decoy Effect Introducing an option that makes another choice appear more appealing. For instance, if there is a standard subscription for £10 and a premium one for £15, adding a super-premium subscription for £30 makes the premium option look more attractive. #For_you_to_know
