🗓On October 16, ASEAN Centre for Energy (#ACE) and State Atomic Energy Corporation #Rosatom signed a Memorandum of understanding at the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-2025) in Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾.
🔹️The document aims to promote cooperation between the two parties in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and sets the parties' commitment to strengthening their partnerships in the nuclear energy industry in Southeast Asia. This includes increasing public awareness of nuclear technologies and their applications, as well as developing scientific and human resources.
🔹️The agreement was signed by Mr. Razib Dawood, Executive Director of ASEAN Centre for Energy, and Mr. Vadim Titov, Director General of Rosatom International Network.
🔹️Within the framework of the forum, a joint plenary session of Rosatom and ASEAN ACE "The Role of Nuclear Energy in ASEAN's Energy Transition" was held with the participation of representatives from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and international organizations: the BRICS Atomic Energy Platform, the World Nuclear Association (WNA), as well as the TUNAŞ Energy Corporation (Türkiye).
🔹️On behalf of Rosatom, the session was attended by Mr. Andrey Nikipelov, Deputy Director General for Engineering and Industrial Solutions at Rosatom. The event served as a platform for the exchange of experience between ASEAN countries and their partners in the development and implementation of national nuclear energy programs.
🗓 On March 11, Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation #Rosatom jointly with the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN Centre for Energy (#ACE) held a webinar titled “Development of National Civilian Nuclear Energy Programs in ASEAN Member States".
🔹️The event brought together representatives of government authorities, industry organizations, energy companies, and experts to discuss key aspects of nuclear energy deployment in the region.
🔹️Opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Mr. Evgeny Zagaynov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to ASEAN and Dato’ Razib Dawood, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (#ACE).
🔹️Expert insights on the development of nuclear energy in ASEAN countries and worldwide were shared by King Lee, Head of Policy and Industry Engagement at the World Nuclear Association (WNA); Senda Hurmuzan Kanam🇮🇩, Director of the New and Renewable Energy Department of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia; Patrick Aquino🇵🇭, Director of the Energy Utilization Management Bureau at the Department of Energy of the Philippines; as well as Susan Aksoy🇹🇷, Plant Design Department Manager at Turkiye Nuclear Energy Company.

🔹️Special attention during the webinar was given to Russia’s expertise and recognized capabilities in nuclear technologies. Mr. Alexander Tsibulya🇷🇺, a representative of Rosatom, spoke about the advantages of Russian nuclear technological solutions. The webinar also reviewed practical case studies of newcomer countries in nuclear energy, demonstrating different approaches to launching and implementing national nuclear programs, as well as the commercial and socio-economic benefits of developing nuclear power generation.
