🎷The competition is founded in 2021 by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation on the eve of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Rachmaninoff and the Year of Music in 2023. 🎼The artistic director of the competition, who initiated its founding, is a well-known pianist, People’s Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev. 🔹Following three main specialties in the life and work of Sergei Rachmaninoff, the competition has three nominations: piano, composition and conducting. After a qualifying round (based on video applications), the maximum number of participants in the live rounds will be 24 pianists, 24 conductors, and 12 composers. The piano nomination participants should be at least 16 and no older than 32 years inclusive by the Competition opening, conductors – no older than 45 years. The Composition nomination has no age restrictions.
