normal users are stuck with a bunch of greedy clowns that make them pay for every little thing, all while wasting ungodly amounts of computational power to render what could have been a static website in 99% of cases.

US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem revoked the TPS extension for Venezuelans, affecting over 600,000 people.
The Trump administration’s decision reverses an 18-month extension granted by Biden and aligns with its pledge for mass deportations. Florida lawmakers close to Trump opposed the measure, citing safety concerns for returning Venezuelans. Meanwhile, Maduro stated that Venezuela would welcome back its citizens.

The Venezuelan government has issued a travel warning for the US, urging its citizens to consider leaving due to the risk of arbitrary detention and deportation. This comes after the US Supreme Court ended TPS protections for 350,000 Venezuelans.
In March, 252 Venezuelans were deported under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act and sent to El Salvador’s CECOT prison, many without a criminal record. Caracas is coordinating legal efforts for their release and has repatriated nearly 5,000 migrants since March.

#US judge pauses termination of deportation protections for some #Somali immigrants
A U.S. court ruling in #Massachusetts Friday temporarily paused the looming termination of Temporary Protected Status for immigrants from Somalia.
U.S. District Judge Allison D. Burroughs’ ruling said there would be “weighty” consequences if Somalia’s #TPS designation is allowed to expire Tuesday.

“Over one thousand people will face ‘a myriad of grave risks,’ including detention and deportation, physical violence if removed to Somalia, and forced separation from family members,” the ruling said.

News: #US faces lawsuit over ending #Ethiopians’ deportation protection, putting over 5,000 at risk
Immigrant rights advocates have filed a federal lawsuit seeking to block the #Trump administration from ending Temporary Protected Status (#TPS) for thousands of Ethiopians living in the United States, a move they say would put more than 5,000 people at risk of deportation and loss of work authorization, according to Reuters.
The lawsuit, filed Thursday in #Boston federal court by three Ethiopian nationals and the non-profit African Communities Together, challenges the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) decision to terminate Ethiopia’s TPS designation effective February 13, 2026.
The plaintiffs argue that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem ended the protections with only 60 days’ notice despite ongoing humanitarian and security challenges in Ethiopia, including continued conflict in ....

News: #US judge blocks termination of legal protections for #Ethiopians under Temporary Protected Status
A U.S. federal judge has halted an effort by the administration of Donald #Trump to end temporary legal protections for more than 5,000 Ethiopians living in the United States, according to a report by Reuters.
In a ruling issued on April 8 in Boston, Brian Murphy blocked the Department of Homeland Security (#DHS) from terminating Temporary Protected Status (#TPS) for Ethiopians, marking a setback for the administration’s broader push to scale back such protections.
TPS is granted under U.S. law to nationals of countries experiencing armed conflict, natural disasters, or other extraordinary conditions, allowing eligible individuals to live and work in the United States without fear of deportation.
According to Reuters, Judge Murphy concluded that DHS had disregarded statutory procedures set by Congress and offered a “pretextual” justification for ending
