As part of the strategy to improve the level of passenger service, Somon Air launched a program to update passenger seats in its aircraft. As part of the program, we will replace outdated seats with new ones. The Elesa economy class seat model manufactured by TCI (Türkiye) was chosen as the new seats. The presentation of the seats was successfully held earlier in Dushanbe at the International Tourism Exhibition DITE-2024 and received good reviews.
The comfortable seats have a Bi-fold back mounted tray table, literature pockets, and a coat hook. The seats are equipped with a mechanically controlled recline mechanism and an armrest. Gadget lovers will love the new feature of the seats - they have a stand for personal electronic devices integrated into the table, on which passengers can place a mobile phone or tablet for working or viewing content during the flight. The new seat design with the company logo imprinted on the backrest reflects the evolution of onboard branding.

Airline is not only about aircraft and new destinations. These are, first of all, people. In our new section, we will introduce you to the employees of our airline, who from the first days have been working for the benefit of the enterprise and contributing to its development.
Zuhra Rashidova, leading accountant
In 2009, when Z. Rashidova became part of the professional team of Somon Air, only five people worked in the accounting department. To be fair, it should be noted that the company had only two planes at that time. A lot of changes have happened since 2009. The volume of work has increased significantly. “We built everything brick by brick. At the beginning it was difficult, but also interesting,” she recalls. - Now there are more than 20 of us in the financial department. We became one big family."
For her contribution to the development of Somon Air, Zuhra Rashidova was awarded the “95th Anniversary of Civil Aviation of Tajikistan” medal.

On October 2-6, 2023, Somon Air concluded IOSA renewal audit (IATA Operational Safety Audit). Passing IOSA audit gives airlines the status of a safe international air carrier. In 2003, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) launched the IOSA Operational Safety Audit. And today, IOSA is a global industry standard for airline operational safety auditing, designed to assess the safety management system, quality assurance, and process management in all operational areas of an airline. Its completion is proof of the airline’s readiness and desire to continuously improve its flight safety processes. Passing this most difficult audit for any airline is a great professional achievement, global recognition and trust. IATA member airlines must prove their compliance with the high standards of civil aviation every two years; this is a mandatory requirement for membership in the association.
