In Tashkent, near the Olmazor metro station, in a green area next to the former shoe factory, a trap has been discovered hidden in the grass, placed by unknown persons.
Who installed it and for what purpose remains unknown. It is presumed that the trap may have been intended for capturing stray dogs and cats. At the same time, cleaning tools belonging to municipal maintenance workers — including brooms — were found рядом.
This is not just negligence. This is a real danger.
A volunteer from the public organization “Ekolog” attempted to remove the trap but was unable to do so.
The key question remains:
what if not an animal, but a child gets caught in this trap?
Who will be held responsible?
The situation requires an immediate inspection and urgent removal of the hazard. This is not only about the safety of animals, but also about human life and health. ☘️Read the latest environmental news on the @ekologuz page. Follow us and send your suggestions and wishes via @eklguz_bot

🚨 Alarming environmental situation on the Salar Canal
According to incoming reports, residues of petroleum products are flowing into the Salar Canal (in the Baynalminal area). Oily stains and the smell of fuel are already noticeable on the surface of the water. Such pollution is extremely dangerous for the canal’s ecosystem.
Petroleum products form a film on the water surface that blocks oxygen from entering the water. As a result, fish, aquatic microorganisms, and other inhabitants of the canal die. In addition, contaminated water can pose a risk to people, animals, and birds that use the canal as a source of water.
Environmental pollution of this kind requires urgent inspection by responsible authorities, environmental organizations, and specialists. It is necessary to identify the source of the leak and take measures to clean the water in order to prevent further destruction of the ecosystem.
📌 If you witness pollution in the Salar Canal, notice dead fish, an oily film on the water surface, or a strong smell of fuel — please report it to the relevant services and environmental organizations.
Water is life. Let’s protect nature and not remain indifferent to environmental problems. 🌿

A visitor to Dream Park, located on Gafur Gulyam Street, has shared a concerning observation and raised a very reasonable question: why introduce fish and birds into city parks if proper care and maintenance are not ensured afterward?
According to her, the pond in the park currently has murky and dirty water where red carp are struggling to survive. Some of the fish have already died. The situation is especially difficult for parents who have to explain to their children why, instead of feeding beautiful fish, they are seeing dead fish in the water.
Previously, swans and ducks could also be seen in the park. However, as the visitor notes, the birds are no longer there — only empty shelters remain.
In many countries, such parks are designed as places where people can enjoy peaceful walks, connect with nature, and observe beautiful ponds and birds. When the conditions for keeping animals deteriorate, it naturally raises questions among city residents.
The resident asks the authorities to pay attention to the condition of the pond and the welfare of animals in the park, and also wonders who is responsible for maintaining such facilities.
Citizens are also asking the responsible authorities and relevant services to check the situation and take appropriate measures.
📌 The appeal is addressed to:
Tashkent City Hokimiyat
It is also suggested to involve representatives of the media and environmental organizations in order to draw attention to the need for a more responsible and caring attitude toward urban nature. 🌿

On March 4, 2026, around 12:00 PM, a report came in that trees were being cut at the intersection of Glinka and Nukus streets in Tashkent.
According to the report, tree-cutting activities were indeed taking place in this area. However, the public has questions about how legally these activities are being carried out.
❗️ We are awaiting an official statement and clarification from the Tashkent City Ecology Department regarding this situation.
🌳 Trees are a vital part of the urban ecosystem, air quality, and public health. Their removal should only be carried out in accordance with the law and with the proper permits.

Tashkent city, Chilanzar district, 19th квартal, building 39. Residents of apartment 22 have repeatedly left construction waste in the yard after renovations.
🔹 Question: Where should construction waste be disposed of, since it cannot be thrown into regular trash bins?
Construction waste (bricks, concrete, plaster, tiles, old doors and windows, etc.) must not be placed in ordinary household waste containers. In Uzbekistan, there are specific regulations for its proper disposal.
♻️ Where can it be taken?
1️⃣ To specialized landfills – Construction waste must be transported to designated solid waste landfills. For residents of Tashkent and the region, this is usually handled by municipal services.
👉 You need to contact your district improvement/municipal service department to request construction waste removal and pay the required fee (usually based on volume).
2️⃣ If the volume is large (major renovation): You can order a separate container. Special equipment will collect and transport the waste to authorized landfills. These services are provided by private companies or municipal services.
3️⃣ Responsibility of contractors:
If the renovation was carried out by a construction team or company, they are legally required to collect and dispose of the waste at official landfills.
⚠️ What is prohibited:
❌ Throwing construction waste into regular trash bins
❌ Leaving it near the building or in the yard
❌ Dumping it in nature, canals, or rivers
Violations may result in fines.

#Tashkent🚨 Attention, Tashkent!
Improper pruning of trees is a big problem throughout Uzbekistan. These shots were taken directly from Tashkent and show how improper pruning harms trees. Unfortunately, all of this is done under the guise of "sanitary pruning" in our country.
❌ What happens to a tree after improper pruning:
Tissue damage - pruning at the wrong angle or in the wrong place damages the bark and wood, forming "wounds" on the tree that cannot heal quickly.
Risk of infection and harmful insects - open wounds are an entrance gate for fungi, bacteria and insects, weakening the tree.
Branch deformation - uneven growth of branches, too dense and palm-shaped pruning, weak "tops" that easily break in the wind.
Reduced photosynthesis and health – cutting too many branches reduces the tree’s ability to produce nutrients, slows growth, and reduces immunity.
Reduced ornamental and ecological value – the tree loses its shape, shade, attractiveness, and air-purifying ability.
🌱 Conclusion:
Improper pruning is not just an aesthetic problem. It is a threat to the life of trees and the ecology of the city. To preserve green areas, professional pruning, compliance with agronomic rules, and training of utility workers are necessary, as well as the employment of dendrologists in landscaping departments operating under the authorities.

#TashkentVolunteer of the NGO “Ekolog,” Madina Ismatullaeva, responded to a report on the Animal Capture Service Portal at the address: Tashkent, Bogishamol Street.
Upon arrival, it was found that residents themselves allow cats into the building entrances: feeders are installed on the floors, and the animals use the entrances as shelters. Residents also provided footage from security cameras confirming these facts.
Some complaints from residents were directed at a neighbor named Sardor, who voluntarily feeds, treats, sterilizes, and vaccinates cats and dogs. According to the complainants, this creates inconveniences: cats enter the entrances, jump on cars, and lie on window grilles. There were also concerns about three dogs being walked without muzzles, although the animals behave calmly and show no aggression.
The volunteer conducted educational work with residents on the rules for keeping domestic and stray animals, observing sanitary norms, and mutual responsibility between neighbors. A separate conversation was held with residents who feed cats in the entrances — they were offered alternative solutions: the installation of cat houses and designated feeding zones outside the building.
Together with the prevention inspector, Sardor was briefed on the rules for keeping domestic animals and requirements for walking them. As a result of the dialogue, the parties agreed not to feed cats in the entrances, to follow sanitary standards, and to maintain cleanliness.
However, the conflict between residents remains ongoing, and new complaints continue to arrive, so repeat visits are planned to monitor the situation.
This case demonstrates how the lack of coordinated actions, disregard for sanitary norms, and absence of dialogue can lead to tension and create risks for animals. Our position remains unchanged — we advocate for humane treatment of animals, compliance with the law, and respect for the rights of all residents.
If you share the principles of humane treatment of animals, are willing to participate in educational work, and help resolve similar situations — we invite you to join our team of volunteers. The more responsible people there are, the fewer conflicts, and the safer life for animals in our city.
