📅 18-19 ноября в Бангкоке состоится очередная встреча лидеров экономик-участниц форума «Азиатско-тихоокеанское экономическое сотрудничество» (#АТЭС).
К сожалению, традиционно конструктивная работа в рамках АТЭС в этом году омрачена попытками США, Австралии, Канады, Новой Зеландии и Японии привнести в повестку дня Форума «украинский сюжет», а также возложить на Россию ответственность за неблагоприятное положение дел в мировой экономике.
Терпеливо разъясняем партнерам, что рост цен на продовольствие и энергетические товары, как и в целом развитие инфляционных тенденций, наблюдаются уже несколько лет и объясняются:
👉 вызванными пандемией сбоями в глобальных и региональных стоимостных цепочках,
👉 безоглядной «накачкой» мировой экономики ликвидностью в рамках ультралиберальной кредитно-денежной политики эмитентов основных резервных валют.
Россия является инициатором или активным участником реализации более чем 20 проектов АТЭС в таких сферах, как торговля и инвестиции, цифровая трансформация, устойчивое и инклюзивное развитие.
Отмечаем взвешенную и конструктивную позицию таиландского председательства, которое Россия всецело поддерживает. Рассчитываем на успешное проведение саммита АТЭС и консенсусное одобрение лидерами его итоговых документов.

News: #Election Board says 73 independent candidates, over 10,900 party candidates registered for 7th general election
The National Election Board of #Ethiopia (#NEBE) said 73 independent candidates have registered to compete in the country’s upcoming 7th general election, while political parties have fielded 10,934 candidates.
Speaking at a press conference held yesterday, 06 March, the Board said the candidates were nominated by 47 registered political parties for the general election scheduled for 01 June 2026.
NEBE Chairperson #Melatwork Hailu said that of the candidates fielded by political parties, 2,098 will compete for seats in the House of Peoples’ Representatives, while 8,736 will run for regional council positions. She added that an additional 73 candidates have registered to run as independents.
The Board also announced that voter registration will run for one month beginning today, 07 March 2026.

#Ethiopia: NEBE holds consultations with political parties over election security concerns
National Election Board of Ethiopia (#NEBE) held consultations with political parties on Wednesday to discuss the #security situation in areas designated for the country’s upcoming 7th general #election, as concerns persist over the ability to conduct electoral activities in some parts of the country.
The discussion, held on 11 March, brought together representatives of political parties and all five board members of the election body, including Chairperson #Melatwork Hailu. During the meeting, the Board provided additional clarification regarding locations that political parties had previously identified as areas of concern.
Participants raised several issues related to the security environment surrounding the electoral process, including potential threats in certain regions, the ability of political parties to conduct campaign activities freely.

News: #Election Board holds national consultation on security ahead of 7th general election
The National Election Board of #Ethiopia (#NEBE) has held a national consultation on constituency-level security ahead of the 7th general election, the board said in a statement.
The meeting, held on 2 February 2026, brought together Presidents of Regional States, Mayors of City Administrations, senior security officials, representatives of national political parties, and civil society organizations (#CSOs).
NEBE Chairperson #Melatwork Hailu said the board is preparing for the 7th general election by incorporating lessons from the 6th election and subsequent post-election consultations.
Biruk Wondwossen, head of NEBE’s Operations Department, presented constituency-level peace and security reports collected from regional states and security agencies, categorised as Green, Yellow, or Red.
